Why would he let some record execs listen to a record he already has a well planned release schedule for?

Hmm?

I think someone thought they recognised something (like the railings) in that 3rdeyegirl selfie tweet last week. How they got Paris from it I don't know.
Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

Because it is fashion week there, and he is known for attending a few parades every now and then perhaps?

You have a good point there, is it to show them what they are missing out on? Or could he be lining up a new deal of some sort, or a chance to work with some new people at a stretch?

Or rather: he does NOT have a deal at all, yet.

A sneak peek to a BLOCKBUSTER! After Prince's spectacular Arsenio appearance next week, the anticipation of sales will go through the ROOF!!!

Prince has a lot of respect for La Reid. La Reid said @ Toure's book conference in La last year, that Prince values his opinion....

[Edited 3/1/14 7:34am]

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

Combine this with the 'celebrating in London for the release of the album' and then zero info on a date, contents, etc.

Not a surprising sequence, given that he doesn't have a bona fide manager. Absent that, the general listening public will continue to think that Prince retired 20 years ago and only resurfaces for the occasional nostalgic act, like a Super Bowl halftime show. We know he's continuously recording music and is the baddest damn live act around, but dude seriously needs a manager to both promote and provide direction. Pushing info via Funkenberry is laughable because, despite the attempts to make it seem like a broader music and entertainment site, it's simply a channel through which Prince drops tidbits to a limited audience --- mostly people on the org and other related sites.

I do hope this new album gets serious promotion and that there are some tracks that get a proper release and exposure.

Kobalt ain't the label, why else is he shopping his audio around?

correct - Kobalt is a music publisher who offers label services but isnt a label by far, their strength is in music publishing. Artists typically seek a label for worldwide distribution and all the marketing, radio, promotion behind it (servicing music to radio, getting a placements in Walmart or Target circulars, Spotify features, itunes feature/takeover, press releases, plus much more) reasons why labels are still needed and relevant.

They'll be watching now - even if it is just for that one night. "No one" watched New Girl until Prince guest starred. They had their biggest ratings ever that night - even if it was just for that one night. lol

RoFL conveniently leaving out the fact that the prince episode came on right acter the super bowl. Every show that comes on after the super bowl has its biggest ratings ever.

It did better than the last sitcoms that came on after the super bowl and the game was a blowout so that does speak to the fact that the episode held up very well though

Yup, that was a convenient leave out so I'll give you that. However, there's no denying Prince's being on the show helped pull in many first time viewers, me being one of them. And no, I haven't watched the show since.
