^ really? well, the promo was released to radio iirc.

I have heard it played once on danish national radio back in 2007, and it did not leave a strong impression on the radio host.

Imo a very weak country flavoured song... weak song, weak album.. confused

er

It's a nice little pop tune, nothing more, nothing less.

I like it, it's a fun tune. Loved hearing it live at the Indigo in '07.

It´s one of those songs I could listen to only once or twice, and then never again. Very cringeworthy, terrible lyrics and mediocre music.

But...different strokes for different folks.

Like some other songs on that very same album, it could have been much better if it wasn´t for the corny lyrics.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

it's a nice album track, but nothing more than that imo.

just recently i dusted off the planet earth album again,

adding some other tracks and taking some off and this

track surprised me a little, since i never cared for it at

the time. it's got a nice bounce and cheerfullness.

Oh my goodness, I am upset at the responses I am seeing! This song is one of my favorites and I think it easily could have been a hit if promoted more. It is extremely catchy and a great song!

I really like it. I like the album to. The Lion Of Judah is the only track I don't care for smile

For me it's Chelsea Rodgers, I replaced that with FUNK and the album is much better for it. I know a lot of people like CR though, so hey ho, horses for courses.

falloff if Anyone else released PE no one here would have a good thing to say about it. It's probably one of the worst album I have ever heard - same goes for the album cover.

i thought half the album was good..mainly the first half..somewhere here on earth is a great prince ballad..future baby mama is ear candy..if a bit lightweight..planet earth..the 1 u wanna c and guitar are solid tracks and chelsea rodgers is a decent foot tapper...the rest are very poor i admit...but typical prince album of the last 20 years...some very good tracks and some utter crap..

For me, the best tune on a weak album. That it was given away free in a UK newspaper (and at each O2 gig) cheapened it too for me.

Yeah, I think the first half is great too. I also think The One U Wanna C is a great pop (countrified) song. He should have sold it to a pickup truck commercial!

But seriously it's a masterfully produced song. Kind of like Cream was a simple but masterfully produced song.

I'm a bit of the odd one in here, I suppose. I have very fond memories of the whole album. To me, it is linked to a nice trip to London during a very hot period, a great concert and stay for one night, and an album that, to me, is not bad at all.

The guitar solo in Planet Earth is fantastic,

I love Somewhere Here on Earth, Future Baby Mama

I think The One U Wanna C, Lion of Judah and Resolution are great songs

Chelsea Rodgers is pleasing in a way that Get on the Boat is not,

I even like Guitar and All The Midnights to a degree...

The only thing that I really don't like is Mr Goodbye. It is in the same vein as the songs off 3121, which I didn't like at all as a concept (although it has some good songs as well).

Planet Earth is the kind of Prince I prefer to a god-awful song like Incense and Candles, Beautiful, Loved and Blessed, Satisfied and that kind of bland, throwaway stuff.

OK, start the flaming.

yes Planet earth isn't a bad album, it's far better than Musicology and 3121 in my opinion razz

I have always really liked this one. Catchy tune and should've been a hit. One of his better recent tunes. I also really liked Chelsea Rodgers and Somewhere Here on Earth from that album.

Me too, not a fan of the Lion of Judah, but really love the One U Wanna C and Somewhere here on Earth.
The album really was promoted much here in Australia, but even if it was rereleases today, I think it could go places, with the right single release
