"Don't You Wanna Fall In Love" from New Girl show

The performance of this song in the "New Girl" episode was perfect for the characters Jess, Nick and her friends and it is Prince-ly uplifting tune that is not corny. I actually dug the elctronic dance-pop beat and could be a hit. I don't know how big of a hit it could be, but Prince should have released this song at midnight on iTunes while the national audience was still watching "New Girl". It's another promotional opportunity wasted to sell music to the biggest audience he has had in years. What does everyone think of this song?

I am surprised by how much I like it. There are actual vocal melodies, weird production quirks. It's classic Prince, in my opinion.

Zooey's voice adds a lot to this song.

Really, ya'll like this song? I thought it was a little embarrasing & simplistic but different strokes..

That kinda house/electronica/dance style is my least favorite genre of Prince's...so when the song started up I was like this: neutral...did nothing for me.

Then played that part of the episode over again, just to hear it a 2nd time...and was surprised at how damn catchy it was. From that point on I really liked it.

It's his most catchy song he's had since forever.

Maybe Joshua had a hand in production and songwriting since he's been doing electro music with Prince for a while

Terrific song. Very catchy. Could be a BIG hit.

I agree that Prince wasted a great promotional opportunity by not releasing it for download right after the New Girl episode.

For those of you who are curious,

it is the Hornheadz playing horns on this track.

I was hoping he'd release this song in one form or another after the episode :/ Before I went to bed last night I was actually thinking that this could've been a cool B-Side for PretzelBodyLogic!

Would like to hear the whole thing - not sure what I think yet. Sounds like it could do well though.

I don't think she adds much, but it would be cool to have a Prince ft Zooey Deschanel song out smile

I doubt she's on the studio version. Her parts were the only "live" element. The rest was clearly playback.

I really liked this too, though I hope what were heard was a remix and the actual song is a bit more organic/funky.

I like it - I wonder if it is from a remix of groovy potential? Reminds me of that song somehow.

Dude must have driven his managers nuts back in the days. I'm seriously wondering how many idiotic decisions they have blocked over the years, considering the idiotic things that did get through.

It was an edit of the version we worked on.

I wouldn't know if that was the original, or some other incarnation of the piece.

This really is the song that could elevate 2014 into a BIG year.

Catchy from the first listen with the potential to Funk n'Roll on and and on.

Loving it.
