Be a little bit more specific as to what you are referring to. Albums don't usually have an aftershow. Concerts do.

The Black Album was cancelled in dec. 87.. like you may know..

There was a birthday party for Sheila E., in 86:

^ See post 2, written by OldFriends4Sale (Orger)....:

"Basic tracks were recorded on 10 December, 1986 at Sunset Sound, Hollywood, CA, USA (the day after 2 Nigs United 4 West Compton). The track, along with Bob George and 2 Nigs United 4 West Compton, was recorded for a birthday party Prince was hosting for Sheila E. on 11 December, 1986. It is likely that the low voiceover in the song's introduction was added later (starting with "So U found me, good..." and ending with "So come vibe with us / Welcome 2 the Funk Bible / The new testament"), as it clearly serves as an introduction to the album. It is known that he completed work on the album in early October, 1987 at Paisley Park Studios, Chanhassen, MN, USA, which is probably when this part was recorded."

I took it to mean you have read somewhere that in 1987, Prince played an aftershow or small gig where he performed the entire Black Album.

There was never any such show to my knowledge.

Sheila had a birthday party. They spun some unreleased records. Some of them ended up on the Black Album.

the short answer is NO

but as it is well known and said here: some of the basic tracks were recorded at Shelia's Birthday party in Dec 1986.

But by that time prince had a few 100 songs done and ready to go so such a recording session was not all that noteworthy.

But it was a private party. There was no such public show--ever.

Prince did do Bob George and Superfunkcalfragsexy during the Lovesexy tour. but that is as close it it gets.

Prince took the album to a club in Minneapolis,

I believe Cat (and possibly Dr Fink) were with him,

he wanted to see how the people responded to the music.

No 'aftershow' though

I understand what your saying ...

But for there to be an 'Aftershow' would mean there would have to be a Black Album concert

For fuck's sake, the entire story was posted before you posted your nonsense (and managed to misspell "Sheila").

He didn't jump on you for repeating what had been said. He jumped on for incorrectly reporting the story after the actual events had been described.

I used at as opposed to for? So what? Bart has been like that since the pml/amp days. Like most others here I have forgotten more prince trivia that anyone other than prince should have ever known.

What Black Album tracks have been performed live (besides the obvious two from the Lovesexy main show tour setlist)?

I can't believe that a live band jam type thing like Le Grind wasn't grooved on at an aftershow back then. I wish it had happened!

An aftershow from a well-documented era that somehow has remained unknown? Why do you repeat an rumor that is so flimsy the word "unsubstantiated" is not strong enough to describe.
