bored

Im burntout on princes music. I find it hard to care, Ive moved on to other artists. Pandora has truly opened my ears to music. This doesnt mean that his music and what he does doesnt rock my ass off its just right now Im bored. Has this ever happend to any of you fans. Theres so much more to his music I dont know about and maybe feel like ill never know due to all the hoop jumping or inability to hear what I want because I gotta move heaven n earth to find it to buy it, its making me annoyed more than joyous to be a fan anymore. The LA shows were basically all the same that WTA stint at the forum in LA, it wasnt fun after show 3 .. Idk

someone help me out here without harrasing comments please if you can relate in any way Id appreciate a new perspective .. a fresh look .. or maybe i should just not think on it n move on .. come back to it later idk..

I'm not so much bored, but I have the feeling I've seen & heared it all. But the guy has been around since the late 1970s, so that's really not surprising. I missed his gigs in Amsterdam and I don't really care. Okay, so he has a rock band this time, a jazz band next time. Been there done that. As much as I respect him for being able to do all that, it doesn't excite me anymore. That's just the way things go...

Well, i have the feeling that he's losing me as a fan after 22 years! I wanna hear his music and still like it ( breakfast and the other one fixyourlifeup were so weak)
But i dont have the time and i'm not willing to search the fucking web for his new music, a new video or whatever! Im simply sick of that silly games! He better wake up - he is 55 and his fans arent teenagers anymore....

I was at the Paradiso shows. No boredom at all.

Guess, I was lucky.

When I feel like it, I listen to his songs. Now that I'm digitlizing my cd's, I like to make my own playlists.

I still enjoy all his music, from 1977 till now. Some songs apeal more to me than others.

And when I don't feel like hearing his stuf, I'll listen to another artist.

I don't feel dissapointed with him then. It's more that I'm in a different mood. Don't blame him for that.

I go through phases. I've been a fan since TGE and for a long time pretty much listened exclusively to Prince.

In the last 7-8 years my tastes have widened and I now listen to a very wide range of artists and genres. For the last three years or so I hardly listened to a single Prince track.

Then about a month ago I had my iPod on shuffle and Christopher Tracy's Parade came on and for the first time in a long time I thought "damn I gotta listen to some Prince."

I just think it's easy to burn out on an artist, especially if their current output doesn't satisfy you. You just need to take a break...

i'm the same. i threw on some rolling stones today & still get a wide on listening to their stuff, this ain't the case with prince of late.

i haven't quite got over the let down that was the 2nd show at montreux, after witnessing all that shtick i don't care how promising the 3rd eye girl project was, i have now tuned out.. hearing prince since just gets my hackles up, i never thought i'd feel that way sad

i think now he will need to do something properly cool to win my love back, a serious platform, a few old tunes, a piano, his voice, maybe a violin

I think I am more a fan out of habit, I still like the old stuff, but the rest??? And even the old stuff I hardly play anymore, overplayed it to death. I guess I just like to hang out here at the Org! lol

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Did you attend the Montreaux shows? What was wrong with it? Care to elaborate?

I undrstand where you are coming from. I've been a fan since 84 and in recent years have only played the older stuff.

I have phases where I play all the older stuff and I remember just how excited I was to hear a new album or single. Last night I was listening to Sometimes It Snows in April.

They sure do! wink

Prince was just the first artist that blew me completely away when I was kid, and I have always followed him since...

I understand you Jon, and I am rather bored too. sad

Because Prince hasn't delivered a "big" 2013 like he promissed....

Not yet... until now I only like 1 song this year: "Breakfast Can Wait".

Now, 2 and a half months left to deliver something "big"...

will he/ Prince keep the promise, deliver a great album.. whatever is he going to do to make it "big".. question

Prince 4Ever. heart

my advice is learn to be patient. prince is just a guy and he'll do what he wants to do, when he wants to do it. no amount of complaining from fans will change that.

Why do you ask us to change your current status?

If you don't dig Prince, than don't listen to it.

Search for other music that you do want to hear.

Why would you force yourself to like something, that you don't???

You can still hang around here, without listening to Prince.

Just skip this part of the org. Go to GD or other music. Have fun. Enjoy your life.

Don't get stressed over Prince music.

^I think the OP has made it clear that he already IS listening to other music. But this is what it's all about: when you've been a FAN for years, when Prince's music, news, tours made you excited, when you where sitting with your ears glued to the radio to hear his next single, or your eyes glued to the tv to see the new video, when you spent the night before an arena to see his shows, when you collected every freaking outtake on bootleg even if it sounded like shit and then, years later, he releases music that just makes you go, yeah...it's alright...then yes, I can understand people getting bored.

Just a bit concerned why his jams havent touched me the way they usually do .. wonders about the depth of my saying im a fan .. feel like a traitor. Wish i was rich so I could go to all his gigs like the fanatic I feel I am to reemurge myself in what i feel about his music. Onward to others, keeping our man in the backpocket knowing I can break it out & crank whats been cranked a ton even more. It is what it is and im a truly patient person.
