If Prince were to do a Coheadline Tour?

If Prince were to Coheadline a concert tour who would u choose as the other act? What Kind of Venues would they play? Who would open?

I would choose stevie wonder, They would play baseball stadiums like wrigley field and fenway park which hold around 40,000 people and have a classic vibe. Impossible to choose who would open haha coin flip?

Kinda like the Joel/John tour? I can get behind that. It's a win-win for everyone!

The ONLY possible co-headliner is Bruce Springsteen. But don't hold your breath.

I think his current small venues tour with 3rdeyegirl works out very well.

He's getting major positive reviews and seems to enjoy it himself a lot.

And in between they can do great jams like they did in NY.

Seems all good to me. Why make it more complicated when this works fine?

I'm with you.

I think Pink and Prince would sound great together.

Maybe the band can even mingle.

I really think that would be an awesome combination.

Maybe they can surprise everbody and not make it a rock song.

Allthough, that probably works very well.

I like Pink.

Prince / Kayne West tour would be better than Justin Timberlake / Jay-Z don't you think?

Prince would drown himself before he goes on a rap tour.

I remember in the late 90s (around 1997 or so),Prince held some press conference and announced that his 'Jam Of The Year' tour would be playing some dates with several big name artists.

No Doubt and Santana were two of the acts he mentioned...there were a few more but I can't recall what he said

I guess those big plans were cancelled.

Prince U2 would be the best, but no chance it would happen. U2's last tour approached 800 million. Prince's entire touring income from the last 15 years likely doesn't come too close to that. With better, or any management, and better career decisions, he could've rivaled U2, and struck an incredible balance between artistic integrity and tons of money, but Prince always chooses the difficult route. Touring with tickets sold 5 or more months in advance, with good promotion, etc, but no.

Thank God for that! Last thing I want is for Prince to be normal!

I think co-headlining tours are a great idea. You get to see *two* great artists on the same bill.I didn't go,but I heard that the Elton John/Billy Joel tour was well-received.A very successful tour for both of them.

Switch it up from night to night. One night,Prince will open. The next night, the other artist will open. This will eliminate any ego clashes, lol.

Can't see him being willing to follow a set pattern with another artist. He seems to like organising shows at his own pace.

I imagine that Prince would co-headline if it exposes his music to a different crowd, and keep his earning power steady.

A win-win, IMO, would be with another "legend," but from a slightly different genre - I'm thinking Van Halen b/c that band toured for 3 months last year with Kool & the Gang and ended up the #8 money-making tour of '12.

Prince-Van Halen works, IMO, because both fanbases are arena-sized, (which would add a night or two in certain cities,) and the press for a co-headlining tour like that would be huge... Both artists would get a benefit from it.

Prince-David Bowie works too, but I thought I heard David Bowie was done touring. sad

Hmmm.

I'd love with Madonna, but i don't know if that really works.

so what i think can work with Prince.

Bowie

Bruce Springsteen

Janelle Monae

David Byrne

Jack White

Santana

Lenny Kravitz

Paul McCartney

Elton John

Stevie Wonder

and some bands like:

Muse (don't know if it would fit well, but i don't know... I just love Muse so much and still want them to do Sign O Times together, Muse did a fantastic cover last year. shrug )

Depeche Mode (same though, but i don't know.. something interesting could come up)

The Black Keys

Foo Fighters

Queens Of The Stone Age (did a few collabs on their latest album: ...Like Clockwork. with Elton John, Trent Reznor etc worked amazing)

Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers (or should i have mentioned that one in solo artists? not really, i think)

Pearl Jam (his cover of Even Flow was so awesome. would be a great combination i guess)

The rest i don't know.. quite lot of names. sometimes the most unexpected can be the best.

Kanye West?? lol I think that if Prince were to do a co-headling tour,it would have to be with another artist who is on his level...a legendary artist who has been around as long as he has,or longer.

Carlos Santana,Stevie Wonder,Bruce Springsteen,etc....

realistically Prince aint gon play with any of ur choices ... except the only one that it could actually work with ... which i would say is paul mccartney .. they could both take turns at the face 2 face pianos like elton and billy .. do a similar style set on the acoustic guitars .. have a full band for half of each persons set .. let them duel on bass solos during a helter skeletor oh darling nikki funk fusion metal noise jam w/third eye girl and dave groll on drums .. they would both have some great hits mixed with crappy new songs nobody wants to hear .. it would be perfect!
