"Prince is all about Livesteam"....... Until they do one single thing he doesn't like then it's "the internet is dead" all over again.

Prince pulling rank on BET execs like an O.G. and demanded that Janelle Monae performed on the show. Hopefully if Andy Allo's SUPERCONDUCTOR RELOADED album comes out and does well commerically, that he can do the same for Andy. With 3RD EYE GIRL signed to Kobalt and Prince asking Kobalt to add more songs, maybe Prince is slowly building a roster of artists for his label again. The pros and cons are obvious.

We know the name "Prince" carries a lot of weight! I'm not at all surprised that he helped Janelle get on the BET Awards. She and Erykah definitely tore the roof of the 'sucka. I'm glad to see him (finally) showing Andy some love again. I do think that he's recreating a label with different acts (Andy, Kinda, possibly Chelsea Rodgers). Andy is one of the few protegees who has actually hustled and attempted to do her own thing instead of just riding on his coattails. Can't wait to read more from this interview with Dr. F.

Man, what an empty interview. Why is J posting that little snip and waiting on the rest?

SUMMARY:

Prince loves Livestream.

Prince got BET to include Janelle Monae in the BET awards.

Prince MIGHT have to add a few songs to Andy Allo's 'Superconductor' and release it through Kobalt.

That's it.

Janelle did not even fit in with that shitty awards show. Plus, the performance was a little strange and her vocals were weak. Her rap seemed like it was written by Tony M. What was with the poodle?

Good for Prince for making that call, but I am shocked that B.E.T wasn't already planning to have Janelle on the awards show. She's a great live performer (unlike some of the other people they had on) and Q.U.E.E.N. is a killer song. Why in the world would they have left her out? Of course, Prince may have slightly over-stated his role in this. Who knows?

Already has more content in it than any other interview with him that I've ever read.

I don't know..maybe they wanted to let more space for minaj, ciara, chris brown and company... confused the awards in general are a joke now.. they have the tendency of having always the same performers on that show actually this year was a good one because they switched up a little the line up finally : j cole, kendrick lamar, miguel, janelle..I was actually surprised they switched up a little finally...

Thank you for saving me the pain of reading that.....

So, Prince must own a stake of Livestream if he thinks its the shit. There's plenty of other sites like it that are just as good or better and have been around alot longer. Welcome to the Internet P.

The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

Guys this is real time. The Org is over. Livestream is now. We need to stop living in the past and smash all our clocks.

He's making himself sound like a nut whose tryna keep up with the times. Can't it just be like the PR days where he barely gave interviews?

Nope the Org isn't dead, has had more action in the last week or so than the Livestream!!

If P keeps doing that Livestream thing we'll probably have as much music by the end of the year as we did back in 2001 so it's kinda cool even if though I'd rather purchase the stuff in optimal quality.

As for Superconductor Reloaded it will always be nice to have a few more songs smile Prince seems to want to do something with Kobalt but so much have been promised and canceled over the years... I ain't getting too xcited...

Let's c what happens in pt. 3 of the innerviews.

Pretty much this. For once I agree with Nouveau Dance. He's right. Once Prince figures out he can't control it, the money stream dries up or people have figured out a way to capture shows and spread them around, he'll shit on the distribution model for sure.

Hey, Prince, record the rehearsals and shows, put them on ThirdEyeGirl website for purchase and see if you don't make some money from your dwindling, hardcore fan base (which has only dwindled and is less hard core because you act silly when fans want to hear your music, post websites to talk about it and want to see you play live but can't make your over priced, last minute shows).

I know he does this shit on purpose (3am, no schedule, fucking with fans, etc.) to maintain his mystique element, sense of control and to avoid over-exposure but me and a lot of people are getting too old to do the work necessary to "go through the proper channels", such as they are.

Looking forward to seeing these streams once they hit the usual places I tend to find them.

edit: Why don't paragraph breaks and hard returns work on this site anymore?

In 2008, BET played "Somewhere Here On Earth" video when no other network would. VH1, MTV, Fuse didn't touch the video.

Um, yeah, not exactly. Perhaps you're thinking of Call My Name or arguably even Future Baby Mama. They both hit the top 40 on the US R&B charts.

And Housequake wasn't a "black hit", at least not where I grew up. That song was great but a little too weird for black radio and even most black clubs -- not that I was old enough to go clubs back then.

They also won Prince two of his 7V3N grammy's. His last in 2008 4 The rnb hit "Future Baby Mama".

Also "HouseQuake" was an album cut radio/club hit in LA, played daily on black radio here back then. It was a mainstay in the clubs here in LA. Especially with the 12inch maxi single was release.

U shouldn't respond to that person who is a hater here 4 the sole purpose of bringing Prince down daily.

interesting to know that housequake did get some love in the club back in the day. it's actually the first song that got me into prince. it was summer camp and some kids were going around singing "who in the house know about the quake? we do! i'm really, really".

1. Prince made his own bed with COUNTLESS contradictions over the years.

2. A diehard here who couldn't care less if he did another "interview."

3. Excited for a minute with the stripped-down rock of 3rd Eye. Was hoping the NPG horns were history.

4. Montreux performance of "Mutiny" didn't come close to recent fDeluxe shows.

5. Is Superconductor worth a listen?

about superconductor what I don't like about Andy are her live performances which aren't acoustic...she has the personality of a chicken in them...and the live performances are one of the first things I search in an artist..
