Prince doesn't need to cover anyone else's music, the man is talented enough to just do his own. I want to hear your music Prince, not your covering of someone's else music. I'm not a fan of Pearl Jam, I'm a fan of yours.

I understand. But, for me, Prince can sing and/or play anything he wants to. It's when someone else covers Prince's music that I usually couldn't care less.

Yeah, kind of like D'Angelo's remake of Soundgarden's song "Black Hole Sun". I think it sounds just wunderful! I know Stone Gossard and he would probably get a big kick out of this version!

I like it. Although I think he should stop with this 'I got too many hits' shit to then play half a set if 70's funk covers. Just play your damn songs! cool

MrVortex

Sounds good.

Although I would have loved to hear him cover Black off the same PJ album - I always thought that was Pearl Jam trying to do their own Purple Rain.

Sounds great! good to see Prince expanding from the usual stuff he has been on. He was in a deep rut. Hopefully these youngsters playing with him are breaking him out of it. Awesome!

He can do whatever he likes. If he is currently vibing on 90's Seattle grunge, enjoy the ride since you despise his 70's funk covers so much.

Non-coincidentally, this would mean Prince & 3rdeyegirl just recorded their first good song. I'm not joking when I say I wouldn't mind a new album of merely covers. Prince is still a hell of a musician in terms of sheer technical ability, and it might also provide for hilarious moments if he were to change more controversial lyrics to something cringe-inducing and Jehovah friendly.

The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

"Prince returned for an encore that kicked off with -- of all things -- a jazz fusion-style instrumental version of Pearl Jam's grunge-era hit "Even Flow." It was a true head-scratching moment in an evening full of them"

Please do not mess with quotes.

Please do read what I wrote.

I did not say that I did not like whatever.

I did say that I hear first hand from someone that he was not too happy.

Even Flow? Hard song to cover. Don't think they should keep this one in the setlist but it beats The Cars cover. "Let's Go" - nobody wants to hear that. And Even Flow is a hard rock song and he is not a hard rock performer. The whole tour is kind of a mess but I'm glad I saw Endorphinmachine and She's Always in My Hair.

As far as the band is concerned. They are pretty good. They look good. They don't take the focus off of Prince at all, which I think he was hoping they would do - or maybe he wasn't.

I still think he is just rehearsing them for a Major Tour to see if they get tired or complain. I wonder if he makes them play during "that time of the month."
