Billboard awards

Not sure how many were able to watch the Billboard awards last night but especially for our friends across the waters, they may not have had access to this "music" awards show. I did labor through the whole show as my daughter wanted to watch them and she knew I wanted to see Prince so we had a full evening. Wow, there were some really bad live performances. When Kid Rock is critical of the performers and their lip synching, wow. There were a few bright spots, Bruno Mars was good, no surprise, Ed Sheeran sang live and sounded very good but over all, what a pile of crap! And wow, whatever talent Justin Bieber ever had, I know debatable, it has been fully drained and ruined by hanging around Usher too much as he is like a little White clone. I digress, on to my Prince thoughts and curious of other's thoughts.

The into by Erica Bahdu, or however you spell it, and Janelle Monae was fair and then a video montage of him through the years was pretty good but for me the flashes of performances were to fast, but whatever, it was fine. Then at the end of that, no big into or anything just he was one stage with the girls and then began to play. Now I fully respect what he is trying to do as he moves into a little different direction that the greatest hits show but I am still struggling a bit with it as it just seems to be chaotic and "noisy". He started with the new version of LGC, which was fine the first time I heard it but it is kind of boring live especiallly when you have the energy of the orginal. Then went into Fixurlifeup which I thought was good. He gave the bass player nice solo time and she was good and I had not really seen her "stretch her legs" musically. Now, due to the caliber of performances I witnessed, Prince could have came out and did an accapella version of Purple and Gold and it would have been better than the majority of the folks but for me, I am still struggling a bit with the current direction. Not that I am not a non Rock person as some of my favorites are Endorphine Machine, Interactive, the whole C&D CD and others but I am missing the depth and the sound or something. I am missing the melody of previous rock times with the Sonny, Michael and Tommy days as it seemed more layered to me and not so "noisy" as it seems now somewhat. I am not slamming Prince as this is probably my problem but compared to Awards shows of the past this was just OK for me but still, he sounded good live and in this day an age, that is not a given.

Also, curious about thoughts with the new look? Not sure if he is going for the look of the love child of Jimmy Hendrix and a member of the Blank Panthers? LOL

I watched the entire show last night. I only watched it because Prince was there! His performancewas great. He was the last to perform, I was a little mad about that! The other performers did a great job too. I am a fan of Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Chrisina A. So I was happy to see them perform. Madonna got an award and spoke. Overall, it was a good show.

I watched it too and i thought the show was wack . Jlo was lookin tired in her performance , Miguel looked confused and tried so hard that he hurt two people in the audience, It's always a pleasure to see Prince perform, i like the look, kinda takes u back to the For You era . But i was expecting a lil more .

Loved the performance a lot Prince really showed how to perform without lip-syncing and million dancers on the stage. His performance was the best I'm glad that they saved it for last. Cant wait to see the video for Fixurlifeup. I loved the montage in the beginning its good to see some new stuff in there.
