"However much U Want (Original Mix)", "Man'O'War Sampler" and "Fury (Edit)" releases questions

Hi smile

BorisFishpaw's Housequake list says that it was on the "If Eye Love U 2night" single and IIRC Princevault used to say so too but now Princevault says it wasn't, and my research on Discogs shows the track of none of the releases (which is no proof in itself as another release may have been missed).

So what's the story??? eek eek eek

Wow! U're good dude! Thanks u've made my day twice this week biggrin biggrin biggrin

Probably one of these very limited releases printed by Edel without Prince's consent. Glad it does exist in the end.

Princevault need to update their entry ^^

Yes, that does exist. That cd single popped up around 1994, but to my knowledge was never sold at retail level. If it was, it would of been at the NPG stores. Kinda similar to the MPLS single. This release was completly independent. This early versions cover art is different than the edel single artwork. You can find the artwork in the 1800NEWFUNK cd booklet.

Cool info, thanks.

Like I said earlier it may have been an Edel collector, I read that post by an Edel exec (it was from usenet I think, probably reposted here a few years back) who explained that they'd printed a few Mayte maxis and that drummer boy's album (can't remember his name) in limited editions without greenlight from Paisley Park, in order to have collectors they could keep for themselves and sell for high prices later. They were legit releases with catalogue numbers and all, and some were sent to record stores, but Prince wasn't aware of them. Edel had received a lot of tapes from Paisley Park back then for future releases, when Prince still wanted to make a real label of NPG Records. They obviously didn't dare to release the early versions of Exodus and Madhouse's 24 because Prince would have had to know about it and go mad at them but from what I understood the boots of these albums came from them as well.

Whatever happened to T? I remember him from the pre-Org days. I hope he's doing well.

I don't really need it per se but I'd love seeing how it looks just outta curiosity so yeah, please smile It would also be interesting to c if the copyright date is 1994 or 1995 as the other versions of the single.

Thanks biggrin

One more question for u guys: what about the circulating Man'O'War sampler (the one with the unreleased Graham, Gaines and Madhouse snippets)?

Fishpaw says it was released as a promo and Princevault says it's an inhouse tape of which a few copies leaked. I know Fishpaw includes shelved stuff on his list (he included The 87 Black Album, The Undertaker and Milk & Honey even though they were shelved and only a few copies survived and leaked) so it may be the case here but still I'd love to have confirmation. Thanks smile

Yeah that one biggrin Do u know if it's an inhouse promo leak/canceled promo leak or a genuine, distributed promo tape?

One more for u guys because u're good and I'm now working on 2006: Fishpaw reports a 3:36 edit of "Fury" being on a promo but I can't find it on either Princevault nor Discogs. I'm quite sure it exists because Fishpaw didn't make it up but once again maybe it wasn't released in the end. Any info regarding this??? Someone got this promo?

Thanks biggrin

I used to have it - it was a cd-r uk promo with a plain white/black text 'sleeve'- fury times in at 3.37 (on my pc anyway) but I think the sleeve said 3.36 - the same kind of deal that the black sweat(edit) had

here is one on ebay for sale now.
