One of these days the musics is gonna stop and then what? Until then reach in your ash tray, find a buck and some change and enjoy the ride.

Some Prince fans act like there aren't other amazing artists out there. lol

The world doesn't turn to silence the moment Prince puts down his synthesizer of holy justice.

The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Finally get to hear it in decent quality & it sounds so much better than the dodgy quality I was hearing online. Tune for the day & it is getting blasted out the car, windows down, cuz it's a clear blue sky day! 😄 Really dig the music in this song & I know it's just the way my brain works but I can't help hear similar chords or key or something to the song Rush Hour Soul. Maybe it's the guitars that have that same kinda sound. guitar

@thedance I totally agree with you...

I'm not feeling the new Prince material at all... Lyrically these songs are just pure garbage as well, it's time for Prince to realize he aint 20 no mo and move on to another phase in his life. neutral

This sounded bigger and better live in Vegas..............

Still a catchy riff.

Was hoping the new album would be more "live off the floor". Losing hope.

Another disappointment.

WARNING! INCOMING GENERIC COMPLAINT ABOUT HOW GOOD HE USED TO BE:

Why is he so reserved? No bark, no bite. P's been playing it safe since Diamonds & Pearls, with the exception of the one solitary gem now and then (The Work Pt. 1, Black Sweat, PFUnk, Guitar, Dreamer, etc.) Where's the ambition? The libido? I know he's 52, but everything he's done in recent years sounds like it was recorded in his sleep. This song, was flatter than a copy of 20Ten that's been run over repeatedly with a steam roller. He seems to have no passion for making records. I know he'll never do another Purple Rain or Lovesexy, but he can do better than THIS. We know he can still jam, we've all seen him live. Why can't he play like that on record?

make that 55 (in a few days) smile

I give this tune a thumbs up.
Find it odd that people flip out over each release. It's just a song. He's making it availible to us- which is lovely- we can either like it or not- but the nastiness on this site is comical.
Calm down folks.

djThunderfunk said: Thanks, but I'll be happy to speak for myself. Your previous post about AAC being "iTunes proprietary bull" is what I was responding to as being incorrect. As for the m4a container, it's supported by plenty of audio apps/devices: Windows: Apple iTunes Apple QuickTime Player Microsoft Windows Media Player Microsoft Zune Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate Nullsoft Winamp Media Player Roxio Creator NXT Pro RealNetworks RealPlayer Media Player Classic NCH WavePad VideoLAN VLC media player Mac: Apple QuickTime Player Roxio Toast 11 Roxio Popcorn 4 RealNetworks RealPlayer NCH WavePad Cog VideoLAN VLC media player If it was "iTunes proprietary bull," then it would play in iTunes and only in iTunes. Feel free to shed any additional light on the subject with facts, if you have any to share. Moot point in relation to this thread anyway, as the song never appeared for sale in iTunes or any online music store, including Prince's own.

WTF?!?

"Doozer: I stand corrected on the proprietary comment" means, you have corrected my incorrect statement. Based on the bolded parts of your comments, I'm not sure you get that...

confused

djTunderfunk:

Sincerest apologies. The way I read your post was that you were mocking a conversation between myself and errant, with me saying "I stand corrected" after errant pointed out that iTunes uses m4a containers for its audio files.

.

I see now that wasn't the case at all, and that's completely my fault for misinterpreting what you wrote. You were talking directly to each of us, which went completely over my stupid head.

.

Peace to you - and again, I apologize for misunderstanding the nature of your post. That's on me.

it's a good song, really. in the style of other guitar classics like bambi, fury, guitar, i like it there. for me, it should have been longer. the end stops very suddenly after a good instrumental part.

it's strange to me he's selling it through i-tunes and not his own 3rdeyegirl website like the other songs

Why Is the Shhh w/n the watchtower? nobody knows, nobody cares.
Have U 4gotten the trolls are out and about for the 12:01? Name call, much?
The 3 Under your guidance into the Midnight Sun. Absolutely meaningless statement. You're using subjective language, which is only excusable if it is extremely well crafted and results in meaningful exploration or dialogue. This of course, doesn't.
Watch ur back 4 if u make the wrong decision Are you speaking the afore mentioned trolls? Or, the 3 under your guidance? Maybe, the 'You' in the poem? Who? Oh, it probably doesn't matter much.
Like a moth 2 ur flame They can take u out. Only, moths' don't. The statement is again, just pointless.
Fix ur life up 2 live n2 eternity Does this include refraining from namecalling and labelling people trolls? but, again who is this for? The trolls, the reader, or the 3?
Everybody knows your name, But the ? of U is... Do U know mine? So is this the theme of the poem just poorly placed in the last part of it, with little context to work with?
Eye C U watching me, Do Eye 4ear No way... Again, who? You' already established 3 potential audiences or intended audiences. Who?
God is the creator, true source Eye say.. Random interjection and doesn't fit the clumsy theme of the poem. I mean, if you're going to post a paranoid declaration of war on an ill defined audience, go balls to the wall with it.
So with a shhh and Victor, Eye say silently to you.. Wait. A fourth antogonist or intended audience? Seriously? At this late stage in your narrative?
This little lamb, no sheep- Has finally brokN thru.. At this point, we're so confused and dissenterrested, it could be a giant sperm cell the breaks through, and it wouldn't really matter.
Golden 2 ur Dawn and Jehovah nigh, Eye own my Peace, What peace? This poem has done nothing but point out how disturbed the protagonist is. Or perhaps, just confused, but certainly it doesn't convey peace.
N2 the blink of an Eye. What in to the blink of an eye? Where? Who exactly goes into a blnk of an eye? The trolls? The reader? The sheep? Jehova? What?

Take Care, come C me, if ur ready now. Love4a1000yrs PS: Imago don't b such an illumN at eeee troll. Shhhhh, caio.

This could possibly be one of your worst poems, and that is something reallly difficult to do at this point.

I concur. The song sucks in my opinion, but glad it was released to iTunes. Maybe he'll finally get the hint and start releasing his new stuff on there instead of using home made websites where you never know if you going to get what you pay for.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I've enjoyed a fair amount of the recent stuff, (and usually love the "rock" oriented jams, but this is really bad.

It sounds like a Lenny Kravitz outtake.

If it breaks when it bends, you better not put it in.

Quality post.

Bought it myself and find iTunes more practical personally

I'm finding the song itself pretty average at the moment to be honest, compared to other new stuff like Screwdriver, RNR and Breakfast Can Wait

One thing that does irk me about the iTunes Store: they lost the appeal of 99¢ downloads. They went to $1.29, which is not THAT much of a difference but over time it adds up. 99¢ was "sure, why not" while $1.29 is "hmmm, maybe".

Yeah what is the go with the pricing? On US it is $1.29 and I had to buy it from Australian iTunes and it was $2.19 !!!!!!

Now the Aussie dollar and the US dollar have been similar for months now, so I feel pretty ripped off by iTunes.

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

It's not music snobbery, it's simply the market giving reasons why they dont want this product. One can't lose out by not buying a product that is of no interest.

One thing that is certainly unusual is that multiple online distribution channels are not being used, exclusivity whether on 3rdeyegirl.com, or itunes is simply creating a market barrier.

Prince is a musician not a lifestyle.
