Thank you.. To go one step further, the perfume company suit was setlled yesterday as well. Did any of you know that Vivendi had to pay the damages; greatly reduced btw. Secondly, do you think he doesnt have idemnification claises in everything he signs as to protect himself. APr for the course for a public figure. Any major corp has the same suits/legal bs on a daily basis..nothing to see here... talk to me when he is arrested for a dui or drug possession

Dont try to talk sense to these simpletons.

They dig trash journalism and shit. Only inspired posts they can make is when its juicy gossip type shit but other wise they have nada to say or that they CAN say

(btw who got voted off lst night in Dancing With The Stars? DL still hangin tough? hehe)

He doesn't understand the power of free advertising?

Instead of playing to empty seats, maybe the Stade De France would have been full the other year if he allowed it. Not to mention Italy and where ever else he failed to sell out.

That hall of fame clip on youtube gathers such amazing comments. People love the guy if only they can see him. It's such a shame he seemingly doesn't like showing the world who is boss. It's not idolatry, it's about being a fucking teacher and passing on his skills. He should be inspiring people to play music.

People are coming into this world and are forced to watch and listen to crap. He should be part of an alternative to this spoonfed rubbish on the radio. He should be a force, a presence demanding change.

Instead he likes to moan and occasionally talk the same old bollocks and pretty much do no good at all.

Real music by real musicians? He should fucking put up or just hang it up.

He should be flooding the internet with old and new live performances.

Sooooo frustrating.

clapping

What are you clapping for. No proof that giving music away ( I know it is only six mins) will fill concert seats. Since P has raised his prices and is getting a million dollars a show I doubt he is hurting in the area of concert receipts. I think he is heavy handed with his copyright claims but it is his music and he can do what he likes.

Yes because JWs are really into copyright claims!!! You anti religious folks are almost has bad as the JWs.

Prince's Music/videos and all things related belong to him. People have to create their own music, videos, etc. Not use Prince's music/videos for their 1 minute of FAME! <img src=" />

clapping I don't get him either. Doesn't he know how many MORE folks he would reach if they could see his classic new and old performances on Youtube? Okay so he doesn't want others to put the vids up, fine, but he should know that he could create his OWN youtube channel posting his vids as a compromise. Either way, he's doing himself and his fans a disservice but acting like an assclown. Wake up Prince, it's not 1999 anymore, it's 2013, welcome to the dawn.

He's trying to erase his past. He doesn't want anyone to see the badass he used to be. He only wants them to see the goofy nitwit that he has become now. As for the few glimpses that people do get to see, he wants to be in total control. Being in total control, he can have someone post a new song, whether it's good or bad, and get endless praise from the asskissers that praise everything he does and worship him. Then, once the real opinions start being posted, he can delete it.

Then he should retire. Period. You can't play a show and then get mad when people who pay up to $200 per ticket post their experience on the web. This shit is completely bogus and it makes it really really difficult to defend him in situations like this. One minute he saying that music should be free, the next he's trying his hardest to make as much money off his music with half of the promotion. I mean even this whole 3rdeye girl thing he seems to lose interest in.

I don't think he's crazy or mentally ill, just extremely susceptive to what other people, he views as knowledgable, say.

Some industry asshole probably told him about how piracy was stealing and how every instance was lost profit and, instead of questioning it like a normal person, he accepted it. Now he has a team of laywers he probably doesn't even talk to doing these ridiculous takedowns that are PR poison.

He asks a Rolling Stone interviewer how to get his new music out and when he gets the answer of "you're Prince, just put it online", all of the sudden 20pr1nc3 and 3rd Eye Girl pop up out of nowhere.

Larry Graham talks to him for two years and gets him to convert over to being a Jehovah's Witness. No cursing. Completely changed his persona. And Prince unironically used a fucking Matrix reference when referring to why he chose to do it.

He travels to Islamic countries, gets the VIP treatment and says later "It's fun being in Islamic countries, to know there's only one religion. There's order. You wear a burqa. There's no choice. People are happy with that." when that clearly isn't the case to anybody who follows the news in those areas.

Who knows how many decisions of his were influenced by various people whispering in his ear.

"Why doesn't he listen to his fans?" A) probably everything is filtered through various assistants before reaching him and B) there's no definitive voice coming from everybody regarding the future. Everybody has thoughts on what he should do with the vault or remastering old work but nobody has any real comments on where he should go forward (which is kind of ridiculous to expect from fans in the first place)

  • Why did my post lose all it's paragraph formatting? It looks like garbage now sad

Sooo what you are saying is...its not mental illness, he is gripped by a cultic control?

sad That is sad I always though he was an "I'm in charge" kinda person. When did that die?

No matter the ©️, Paisley Park "official can never ™️ prince. He gave that to us verbally on Oprah in 1996. You can't take prince away from us, corporate. I mean O ( + >

Can you explain why you feel you have to automatically support him?

Why don't people find that he's constantly capable of immensely stupid behaviour?

Just cause it's Prince?

Does not compute.

I'm not getting at you, don't think that, but i'm always curious as to why people are 100% devoted to his stances and viewpoints. He is sometimes wrong you know. It's ok to say it too. You're still a fan. I am, but yeah certain things indicate he's a tool sometimes, bit out of touch.

I'd love him to address some things himself sometime, but that'll never, ever happen.

Funny thinig is , i just watched the toure, questlove and alan leeds chat on okayplayer.. alan stated taht xhis career has been brilliant since he has left.. Someone asked the question about him having all "yes men " around and alan stated that he never told him "no" during his employ. Prince is just fine. He gets up and does what he wants for better or worse.. We should all strive to live that way

Definitely out of touch with social media and the internet. He can't control the medium, he doesn't understand it and can't properly monetize it. BUT..if he views this as just another form of Bootlegging then it's no surprise. And IF that's his thinking, then I ain't mad at him...there is tooo much thiefing of intellectual property in the form of music and it really has hurt the industry and musicians. Can't have it all children.

You people have some nerve! He can do whatever the hell he wants, it's his music. He's not making you pay $200 for tickets to go to his concert, so if he doesn't want you to post your experience, then stay home, that way you'll have nothing to complain about.

I don't think I support Prince on much but his music. But I do support him on this. And he does this type of stuff becasue he definitely understands the internet. You people are short sighted, the world does not revolve around you and it does not revolve around the here and now. If he NEEDED or wanted his stuff freely online, that would be the case, but he does not need it or want it, and I completely understand why.

And I mean jesus, he has given us fans so much free shit over the past couple of years from live sets to 3rd eye girl and some of you are folsk are still being dicks?
