a** lickers vs negative nancy's

In light of the recent posts I thought I'd have fun with it. ENJOY! smile

Ass lickers: loves everything prince puts out even if it sounds like nails on a chalk board. if you don't like it, the ass lickers will be coming for you, asking why? why are you here? (They don't actually want to know the answers to these questions) They will hunt you down in just about every thread you travel to. They will hurl insults at you and read in to EVERYTHING you say. over-analyzing your posts would be an understatement. They will tell you you're not a true fan and that you're not appreciative of Prince. Finally they will tell you that YOU are the reason Prince stopped making music. Yes they actually believe Prince visits the org.

Symptoms of an Ass licker:

-They rate EVERYTHING from 3rd eye girl with a 4/5 or higher.

-They will come at you like a wild badger if you disagree with them and accuse you of being Bart (the king of the Negative Nancy's)

-You will feel like you killed their dog after you wrote "ehh wasn't feeling this one"

-They will tell you that 20Ten was a masterpiece album.

-They will tell you that 3rdeyegirl's LOL reminds them of todays music and that it's so cool. you will later spot them in another thread talkin 'ish about todays music.

-You WILL feel ten times dumber after having a debate/conversation with these people.

-They will tell you if you don't like something by Prince (yes, even if you purchased it) that you shouldn't comment. (only positive comments are allowed in their threads)

-Everything opposite of their view, they consider "complaining" "Bitching" or "Moaning"

Cure: Agree or delete your account.

Negative Nancy's: Hates everything Prince has put out since 1988. Prince could make Sign 'o' the times II and they would call him a sell out. They are the orgers that are almost repeatedly asked "why are you here?" Don't get it twisted, They hate YOU too. You will never see them agree with anyone. Even if someone put's a "YEAH THAT" under their post, They actually might even pick a fight with that person. Oh yeah, and they HATE Prince, the org, and the color purple.

Symptoms of a Negative Nancy:

-They hate everyone and everything.

-You will actually wonder why the hell they are here.

-They will actually tell you that Prince sucks and he hasn't made a decent tune since (insert a year in the 80's)

-They won't fight with you for a long period of time like the ass lickers will. They give up quick and not because they succumb to your arguement but because they hate you and Prince so they just can't be bothered with what you think.

-You will think they are trolling.

-You will think they are playing devils advocate or just fucking with you.

-Don't bother agreeing with them. Part of being a negative nancy is that they love to be alone in this. Don't try to be their Robin.

Cure: Don't pay attention to them and you will be fine.*

*This cure does not work for ass lickers.

Normally I don't like polarising labels (eg. "hater", "kool aid drinker", etc...) but this is very well done - amusing, with more than a dash of truth to it.

Well done! cool

If you were an 'american' you'd see this as a security risk.

How could that person get so close to the prez?

Maybe he was carrying a non-assualt weapon while still having the ability to kill.

Maybe he was unhappy with the federation or had tax problems?

I'm not even telling about Al CIAda.

Unfortunately I think I often fall into the "NEg Nancy" categorey. I love a lot of the stuff Prince did back in the day, and I still think he has some flashes of brillance (most of 3121, selected tracks off of his 2000's projects) but unfortunately I'm not so enamoured with his new directions in studio work. I feel like he still has ONE MORE great one in him (another TGE), it's just a matter of getting it out.

No you don't. wink this was made as a joke to those who are a far extreme to one side or the other. you sound very similar to me. we're moderates. Prince's body of work is very extensive so us fans have a huge measuring stick to work with when it comes to making a judgement call on a song or album (God willing). We use his past work to judge his current work. Ass lickers hate this measure. They don't think it's "fair" to measure what Prince WAS capable of, to what he can do today. Why? I dont have the fuckin slightest! To me that's the only way to measure an artist. You have to measure him/her against him/her. But anyway, the neg. nancy's, they agree with this measure, but just seem to take it too far. I think sometimes they think they work for Rolling Stone lol Either way what I'm saying is there is no doubt this era has taken a turn for the worst. I mean, here Prince is coming out with websites and new music and getting us all stoked and then shooting us straight to the ground when it becomes obvious to everyone and their grandmother that he's just basically producing this new silly girl band. I still have my hopes up for an album that's exclusively Prince but everyday that goes by I'm slowly coming to terms that Third Eye Girl will be the one with the album in 2013.

Sure. But, you should do so with the knowledge that most of the time an artist hits their creative peak when they are young. If they are lucky enough to have a career that spans decades, it is likey that the works they create in their later years will not be as exciting as the work of their younger years. This is especially true to the older fan who has followed the artist from early in their career. The fan also has changed and expectations to feel the same excitement from the artist that they felt when they were young can impede the fan's enjoyment of the later works.

Those of us that realize and accept this are the moderates you speak of, those that don't usually go away as their fandom diminishes. Those with psychological or emotional issues that won't allow them to just. stop. paying. attention. to. prince. will fall into the trap of becoming this Nancy you mentioned.

smile Sure you can add that to my explanation. lol In all seriousness though, the OP was meant as a comedic sketch of what I see going on since I have been visitng the org. It really is not meant to be taken seriously. But yes, If I were to be more specific in my response to wildboy then your post would be captured in to exactly what I mean about comparing Prince vs new Prince if you will. Thanks for your input and I hope that you got a laugh out of this as that is all it was meant to do wink

Are you serious? The thread did interest me, which is why I responded. You did a whole breakdown, and I added a suggestion on what would be helpful.

Since this is your response, your ass will be the FIRST one on my ignore list IF they do make it an option.

Well, you used a cray cray smiley re: my post, when I actually tried to post a suggestion.

I accept your apology and offer one in return for being harsh and calling you a fool.

I've been on sites where there's an ignore option, and it helps with the flow of threads. I think it would be useful and give you a way to avoid the Negative Nancy's that you wrote about, and also the Asslickers. That's all. You could put them all on "ignore" and not have to read what they write, period. If it's the same person fawning all day, or bitter in every post, you don't have to read it, becasue the ignore feature is there.

I completely agree that, that function would be nice to have on this site. I also mentioned in other posts the idea of Polling. where the OP has the option of making his/her thread a poll and the orgers just offer yes or no answers. e.g. Do you like Prince's new direction? Then you would just look at the poll results to see what most of the orgers think. Plus if (big if) Prince did visit the org it would take him 2 seconds to realize what "most" of his fans want. Anyways more importantly then all of this, I hope you enjoyed the thread. It was really an observational joke more than anything and just a fun read for the orgers to take a break from their banter. good talking with you madam smile
