I know there was a speculation thread a couple of weeks ago that I can't find but here is the official confirmation on Prince on Fallon.
PRINCE Set To Perform On Late Night With Jimmy Fallon!!!
Questlove and myself have been hinting about it for weeks but we can now finally say that PRINCE is set to perform on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Friday, March 1st! 3/1/13!
This will be PRINCE's first performance on Fallon's show.
Jimmy & Questlove are big time PRINCE fans. Some would say that Quest is the biggest fan of them all. One thing is for sure, it is gonna be awesome!
We wonder if Jimmy will interview PRINCE and talk to him about the PRINCEtagram from last week. PRINCE will be in town for a Carnegie Hall Tribute to him hosted by Questlove. He will be in attendance.
We are hoping for an interview and perhaps Jimmy and PRINCE going one and one at table tennis! Any fan want to make the Fallon logo behind one of the recent photos of PRINCE? We just might use it on the site.
When we have more details on the performance, we will let U know!-DocFB

awesome news! i think this could be really cool, lots of different options for a tight performance... would be cool to see him do 2 tunes with 2 different bands, maybe screwdriver with the girls and an old school track with the roots. should be sweet! i'm blinded by the daisies in your yard.... | |

didn't say he needed them, prince doesn't need any band, hand the motherfucka a shaker and he'd be great, that said i think he'd be silly not to use the roots in some way... a lot of folks do on that show that have stellar bands to begin with. i'm blinded by the daisies in your yard.... | |

Please God don't let him play a freaking medley. I can't think of one instance where a medley has come across better than an actual full-length song would have.
I respect your wishes and your opinion, EyeJester7, but I'm curious: what makes you wish for a medley? What do you like about medleys?
I think medleys are largely responsible for my lack of interest in much of Prince's recent live performances (the other main culprit being covers). No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.
