The Screwdriver (dance) - yikes

Love this song, my favorite in years, been waiting a long time for Prince to rock it out like this. Nobody can rock it like Prince.

That being said, that screwdriver dance in the video is just ridiculous. Prince, stick with the 'horny pony' or 'the walk', this is one song that is just not deserving of a dance named after it.

I didn't think it was any official dance move.. just a bunch of rock-listening kids stomping on the floor, which is what that generation does to dance confused

er

I couldn't help but notice when watching the 18-21year olds fancy footwork, that it reminded me of what Mayte's mother did in her kitchen when she was talking about Prince & her daughter! eek

Let's just say "The Bird" will continue to be the most popular Prince-inspired dance. When I saw The Time last year and they played the song, literally everyone in the crowd was on their feet flapping their arms and squawking.

I don't foresee something similar happening with the Screwdriver dance anytime soon.

How is anyone gonna learn this dance if they have to pay to watch? I'm very curious to if he will put it out on youtube afterwards. Cause I think it'd have a decent chance og getting some attention. I actually favor his studio version to it though. THat's just my opinion, cause I don't like the overkill guitar solos from Grantis.

Y'all some tired ass mugs get out that dance floor and quit trippin. The dance is cool! Not anything different from the Housequake, but I bet back in 87 somebody was complaining about that too.

Chubby Check followed up "Let's Twist" with "Let's Twist Again" the next summer.

But I don't think Prince is going to break out "(Again With The) Screwdriver" next year, LOL.

it just doesn't fit within the video, would've been more fun to add closeups of Prince playing guitar and walking in the middle of the kids dancing or something.. There just wasn't enough people there it looks empty and sparse... Maybe a few closeups would have helped?
