Yes. In care that he finds happiness in all aspects of his life.
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

That's only truly possible if you actually know the person. Outside of that a fan only knows the showbiz personality and showman.

People that do think they care about him as a person but don't know him, are simply imagining the person, kind of like imagining caring for Santa Claus.

Huh. Interesting question.

I'll say, yes, as much as I care about any artist who has brought joy to my life with their art. There's a handful of them that have actually made an imprint on me as a person, and he's one of them. So in that context, yeah.

As an example, I was pretty fucking devistated when Jerry Garcia died. So clearly, I cared about him as a person. But it was really the affect that his art had on me that made me care about him so deeply.

On a personal level, no. I don't know the guy that well.

Of course.

Prince and I are practically the same person.

Besides things like age, race, ethnicity, religion, geographic location, height, weight, political leanings, creed, friends, relatives, life experiences, and such, we're practically identical.

I know exactly how you feel.

Prince and I are so closely connected that I'm absolutely certain Andy Allo will be yesterdays news in a few months.

Not really, I can seperate the artist from the art.

I'm reminded of Roman Polanski. A great filmmaker, GHOST WRITER he did a few years back was as good a thriller you could perhaps make and it was an old man teaching those darn kids how to make one.

But he should've went to jail instead of fleeing to France.

Prince can be a douche, too inward to see how his actions come off and affect his co-workers/friends over the years. King of his own little world unfortunately.

But he can still crank out good stuff. 3121 was among his best albums.

YES I said that. Huh huh.

But, like he was my pal, or my hero, impossible. No one of us here, as far I know, know him personally well enough to feel this, if ever met him at all.

Yes, but to an extent. I loved the hell out of him back in the day and still do to an extent even now even though he acts a bitch sometimes these days. But not to the point of obsession like a "fam" would who agrees with everything he says and thinks every single thing he makes can do no wrong. Even back in the day, I was never one of those...."I don't care what Prince releases as long as he's happy" or "Don't try to put Prince in a box because that's not what he wants" type people. Fuck that. I still live in reality and as a consumer, I don't give a damn what Prince wants, I only give a damn what I want.

Andy is a four letter word.

Yes. I'd say I care about any human being and he's no exception. Of course I don't spend my days worrying about him... I don't know him personally. But him music meant and mean a lot to me and I wish him happyness. Plus, being a mother, I can't ignore what happened to him as a father and I have a special tought to any parent I know that has been less lucky than me. Famous or not.

Yes, but I sure he isn't that great a person:

I am sure he is extremely intelligent otherwise he wouldn't be able to create so much brilliant music (in the past), unfortunaly Prince is not that friendly,

often he seems to be an arsehole to bandmembers, towards fansites etc.

I think Prince described himself as a tyrant in a recent interview didn't he?

I am a bit disappointed he is not a little more humble.. and friendly. That would suit him, imho.

Prince 4Ever. heart

^That's the way you see it, TheDance. All we can talk about is his public image. That's why I agree with Ufoclub. The only ones who can answer this question are the people who know him. And those who are or were close to him, like Mavis Staples, have mostly kind words to say about him.

So true.

We don't know him outside of his public persona, however others that have worked with him in the past tend to speak highly of him.

Yes, eye care about him as Soul. As a person, sure, eye care about him but Soul goes beyond this dimension into other dimensions. We need a revolution of consciousness here...

1 afterthought - as a person, the ego puts on different personnas and ways. Soul is the pure essence and awareness.
