I perfer the second pic and the backstage pic over those edited pics any day! To me the photoshopped pictures make me think about how old he really is than the ones where he isn't wearing makeup at all because they are too unrealistic. Too unrealistic for anyone at any age really but especially for a man who is 50+. I wish there were more pics of him all natural...I love them! He is truely like fine wine...getting better and better with age!

see the side of the eyes? they are called obicularis and botox works to smooth the lines..see in that"masculine" ohoto..no lines round the side of the eyes

oooookay next lesson

see the forehead and the frown lines...the FROWN lines? these are known as the corrugator muscles and procerus...these with 36 units are smoothed out...look in the mirror and frown or look at the side of your etes if your 54......

do you see what im saying?

I've seen Prince closeup (brisbane aftershow last year) and even way back in 2003 I was front row of a soundcheck in Sydney....the man wears makeup and has definitely done something to smooth the wrinkles - fair enough I guess...I don't care so long as he doesn't go all MJ on us!!

he's definitey had something done - botox would be my guess - doesn't look like a facelift of anything that extreme - just a little bit of botox is my guess (I'm not a pro at these sorta things LOL)....

official photos are ALL cleaned up with photoshop and have been since the 90's - I'm a designer and it's more obvious in some photos than others - but trust me - if it's an official photo, there's none from the last 10 years or so that hasn't been touched up

fair enough too I guess - it's not as though he's alone in that - every magazine you buy does the same with most photos....

my biggest wonder is his hair? how much is real and how much isn't.. is it very careful use of dye/colouring - his hair wouldn't be as black as it is now without some dye....as with the botox he's planned it carefully so it's hard to tell when and for how long he's been doing it...

if he has any sense he'll start reducing it gradually so he doesn't look like most of the plastic fantastics in hollywood... he looks a hell of a lot better than a lot of his contemporaries so I hope he doesn't try to look too young for too long - that always ends up badly!!

Agreed, around 2002 he had some major eye bagage in some pics and looked quite tired a lot of the time, these days he looks a lot better. There was a certain photo from the idol perfomance that was quite shocking.

He's had work for sure, whoevers doing it is good, its sutle but has taken 10yrs off him at least.

His pictures have been retouched since the early 80's. Look at his face on the cover of Controversy. Airbrush city baby.

The Controversy cover is floating around before it was airbrushed. He looks young, but kind of zitty. No joke. Someone had it here. I found it from an old post. Controversy is crazy airbruhed.

hmm i'm not an expert on this. but been very, very close to him (well you can see that in my profile). i did notice he has a lot of make up on his face, like A LOT. i think that covers up a lot of things. but yes could be possible he had something done, but from close up he looked bit older to me tbh. you could really see the difference from seeing him close up and from more a distance.

I agree 100 %. Although I love to look at him when he's all dolled up (he is a pretty man), I prefer him without all the primping. He looks more rugged without the make-up. Like a manly-man!

Truth be told......I guess I like him anyway he wants to be.

OMG! Thank you so much for that link to all of those Controversy era pics! Controversy is in my top three of all time fave eras with Dirty Mind being the first and Prince being the third.

I wonder, what is the trouble if he ever uses Botox injections?

The medias don't help artists to feel comfortable with age damages, because on the same screen one can have 2 pictures: the past and the present..Meantime, whenever an artist want to stay on the Top, he or she needs to stay Young, as for models, actors and so on...

Some stay as slim as possible, which isn't a very good idea because the skin lacks elasticity and tonicity..

Some decide to use surgery to keep the fitness..

If he had botox; fine - his face looks perfectly normal

if he didn't have botox; fine - he really does look great

whenever he gets photoshopped more than a tiny bit: not really a fan - but I guess it's somehow understandable with tons of people just waiting to critique (about any (famous) person) for having a wrinkle more, looking somewhat tired, etc...
