But prince is not rational about it. He wants to post videos that can not be grabbed. That seems all but imposable. Prince is worried about losing sales to people that make copies. It is a fact some people will always make copies. Remember the NPGMC and the songs we bought that many of us lost the ability to listen to as the key was lost.

The thing about watching concerts is so stupid. I would not go to PP to see prince live (unless it was something very special) much less to watch a video of any concert.

I will be more carefull in the future, but I really try not te become paranoid. Because if I do that, I will push people away from me and making my own life miserable by my own negativity. Prince really is not the only one who has to deal with people trying to make a buck from you. That is how the world works. Especially nowadays.

What I don't understand is, that he is a rich guy. Certainly not concerned about buying his food or paying his phone or electricity bills. His fans paid for his cd's, dvd's, concerts and merchant stuff. They are the ones who made him rich.

So what if somebody gets a song for free? He will not eat one dinner less because of it. But if he changes his attitude of being the victim into thankfull for what the support of his fanbase has done for him, will have a positive influence on both him and his fans.

I could not pay for admission to fansite now. And I think there are a lot of people like me, trying to survive, and not drown.

I certainly can't afford a ticket to MPLS.

People will not have a lot of money to spend on concerts or cd's. Only the rich ones will buy tickets to concerts. The regular people can't afford that. They are happy if they can pay their bills and buy themselves food.

Prince will be faced with that too. Not all his fans are rich.

And Prine could challenge himself on his own attitude and paranoia.

He's afraid other people will prevent him from getting richer than he already is.

Don't be afraid, just know that is the reality.

Other people will try to get things for free of make a buck out of you. However, that doesn´t mean everybody is bad. It means some people go farther than others, just to make themselves rich.

The only thing one can do is to look at yourself, what do you really need? How much money do you really need and is it worth it to make yourself paranoid over those extra few bucks? Is it worth it to make other people suffer for those extra few bucks you can earn?

Radiohead gave a way a cd for free. I don't think they spend the rest of their lives being unhappy about how much money they could have made.

(sorry, for getting preachy, just struggling with no money myself at the moment. So, Prince his paranoid ideas about making more money just seem so futile)

With 4 songs being "leaked" a few days before, people were thinking there would be breaking Prince news instead of a discussion of things.

Now, wouldn't I put the big news on my site or advertise the spreecast here? I tweeted and facebooked it only. Still, expectations ran high.

I can understand that when it comes to Prince, people's expectations run high, even though it said for a couple of days it is going to be a discussion. No special guests. Will there be some things asked and shared? Yes. Expectations many times lead to disappointment when nothing was ever promised....

To be honest, I'm not certain she is still his manager.

She USED TO BE and her profile used to say "Manager, Prince" then something else and now says privileged to have worked with Prince. She's not explicitly saying she's his manager and would not have the full picture. She also retweeted the 3rdeye stuff AFTER DrFb and probably got the info from his feed.

trueee!!! good example. Springsteen doesn't care about the bootlegs, he tours and he plays the big stadiums a lot. but he also released quite some live dvd's and cd's. and i really like the idea of releasing a dvd or cd at the shows of the shows.

Robbie Williams is going to do that with his new tour, directly after the show you can buy the live cd of one of the shows(or the show you are at not sure anymore sorry ) at the merchandise stand.

Its cool that there will be (hopefully maybe) a return of Paisley Park parties. I have "show at paisley park" on my list of Prince goals . And despite the fiasco with the lotusflowr website, i'm always a fan of some type of music club (i probably won't pay for it at first until i see how it goes).

either way, I'm looking forward to what rolls out in 2013. and with all that's happening in this world, this is not worth me raising my blood pressure over. I'll just wait and see.

Bottom line, Prince F'd up some fairly impressive momentum he created with this whole "3rd Eye Girl" thing with all this new (and silly) nonsense. If he would have just left it alone with the "leaking" of the initial material, I think he was definetely on the right track with regards to (yet) another inventive way to get his stuff out there. Now, with the events of the last few days, he's taken a MARATHON'S WORTH of backwards steps in his attempt to achieve that goal. Disappointing though. This could have been a big year indeed! Now, it's been tainted before it even had a chance to really start.

First my Lakers, now this? 2013 has been sucking thus far...
