Given the cost of licensing broadcast fees from the Purple one himself, not likely.

Wow thanks for the update! D'Angelo and MeShell woot! The lineup is looking a lot better. I've never seen D'Angelo in concert or MeShell, so this will be a great opportunity to see them perform. I can envision D'Angelo singing one of Prince's slow tracks, and MeShell playing one of Prince's rock jams. I plan on enjoying this show. woot!

He's covered Prince a few times in concert... there are youtube videos of him doing Purple Rain... and there was discussion on here a while ago about him doing Pop Life.

Or D'Angelo has his own problems w/randomness (as he's trying to put finishing finishing finishing touches on his first album in 13 years?).

Meshell's been doing her own cover show for a while (which I caught last year--it was good)... so don't imagine her not being willing to do the tribute.

If Prince had a problem with other people covering his songs, then the thought of attending the Carnegie Hall tribute must keep him up at night. Come March 7, Prince will either play a show on that night.

I think you misread Honestman13's post. He (Honestman13), was talking about himself, flying out to Minneapolis for BobbyZ's event, after attending the Carnegie event.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Costello back in the day wanted to release his own cover of "Kiss" but Prince wouldn't let him?

The Elvis wheel features songs spanning his entire career and a few wildcards. He doesn’t know what he will be playing next until the wheel decides.

Last night’s show fell heavily around the 1986 album ‘Blood and Chocolate’. Five songs were played from that record.

Here is the setlist for Elvis Costello and the Imposters at the Palais Melbourne January 25, 2013.

The River In Reverse/I’ll Take Care Of You/This Wheel’s On Fire (from The River In Reverse, 2006, Almost Blue, 1981, Dylan cover)
I Want You (from Blood and Chocolate, 1986)
Alison (from My Aim Is True, 1977)
Shabby Doll (from Imperial Bedroom, 1982)
Honey, Are You Straight Or Are You Blind? (from Blood and Chocolate, 1986)
