Horny Toad is his most underrated song

It's a b-side from the classic era thats seems buried under the weight of Irresistable Bitch, 17 Days, Gotta Stop (at keast Gotta stop gets hate so its 'recognized' ), Erotic City.

Yes it appears a rockabilly throwaway but those who were around back then were glad to have extra b-sides and this one was a surprise indeed because of the sound. It really made Prince enigmatic because this style was so off of the Controversy and 1999 albums although its a cousin to Delirious.

The music is tight ..and I mean tight as in in the pocket tight..and the lyrics are GREAT!(c) Tony The Tiger.

It rarely if ever gets mentoned so thats why it is underrated.

I'm the kind of brotha that the more you scream, the nastier I get.

That is one of those lines that, like "If anybody asks you, you belong to Prince" always makes me redface

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Compile an album including Horny Toad, Gotta Stop, How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore, Tick Tick Bang (original), Lisa, irresistible Bitch, Broken & Let's Work 12" and you have the nearest thing we'll ever get to a Dirty Mind part 2. cool

blah blah blah

Hard to believe somebody would consider Deliriou, uh, I mean Horny Toad as his most "underrated" song. There's really no such thing as an underrated song. Prince is so far out of the popular culture loop anyway, so among us, there are lots of songs in that category. Jughead ain't one of them.

I explained why it is underrated more than any other people do when they discuss things of this nature.

I'd breathe real heavy, if that didn't work
Maybe I'd start 2 groan

Love Horny Toad, I listen to it regularly on my 1999 playlist

1st time I heard of it, I went to a bar with my dad (in the daytime)

he was stopping in to catch up with someone, and they had a nice Jukebox

and I scanned thru and saw Horny Toad -Prince, grabbed some money out of

my pocket and hit the button

I was in heaven, didn't even know about that one at the time

All I want is 2 rub your body
Until U start 2 bleed

Some of P's songs need other artists to bring out the best in the song

Love it! Some people just don't seem to get his rockabilly stuff for whatever reason.

The synth break alone in this song is killer.

I really liked Horny Toad during the Controversy era. I was 15 at the time. I used to play that song over and over and dance my a$$ off. But now I think it's one of P's not so great songs. shrug

Do you see mr Prince release a set of CDs with a remastered Horny Toad on them?

Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.
