seriously though i don't think he's played the albert hall in london which is very iconic. i'm rather glad he hasn't as it's apparently a soulless shithole.

fucking great venue mate. regularly drove up from carlisle and aside from having my car smashed up and looted i've had some mentally good times there. a proper venue with no time for posers.

Not yet.

He mentioned it during the second Sydney concert and said that he'd love to play there one day. Janelle played there while he was in Brisbane.

There's a movement gaining momentum on Facebook trying to get him to consider a SOH residency - https://www.facebook.com/...y?fref=ts

I'm a Melbourne girl and would prefer him further south (heh), but I went on a tour of the Opera House when I went up to see Janelle and I have to agree with the P&B boys - it really would be the perfect venue for him.

It has smaller rooms along with the big Concert Hall, one of which would be a perfect after-party venue, and a state-of-the-art recording studio that gets feeds in from each venue - there's even a really intimate space with a grand piano that could be used for a publicity or VIP event (or even a secret show).

They can also have a big outdoor concert on the lawn, which could be used to kick off and/or end the residency and, of course, they can play with the lights on the 'sails' (the shape of the building) and turn the whole thing purple.

The biggest problem is that, to do something like a residency, the House would have to be booked, potentially years in advance, and that's just not how Prince works.

It's from a secondary source (although she did work there), but I heard that Prince's people contacted the SOH shortly before he arrived in Australia and he wanted to play as part of the Vivid Festival (which is what Janelle was part of), but presumably they couldn't make it happen in time (or negotiations fell through, or something).

Fingers crossed they can make it happen one day!

I'm having first dibs on VIP for this tour. Kitchens, bedrooms, pubs included. Chuck in the Minack Theatre too.
