Medical treatment of characters in Prince movies Father- Purple Rain Attempted suicide , self inflicted gun shot to head, seemingly got life saving medical treatment from ambulance staff-- bandaged head, stabilized on stretcher Kid- UTCM, shot in the back from long range rifle... If you listened to the Parade soundtrack you knew Prince's character was going to die in the movie. Could they have added 15 more minutes of Tricky and Mary flipping out and Christopher on a stretcher bleeding out? Yeah but it would've been overdone and unnecessarily drawn out. When  go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all  up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming! | |

Prince got his wish & had a death in a movie. Unlike his rejected idea of his father dying in Purple Rain... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. | |

Wouldn't that have been a very tragic ending? It explains why Morris,Wendy, Billy & the audience was so sad & crying during Prince's heartfelt Purple Rain per4mance. I always felt .Was it that serious? They must we're told about the tragic suicide deaths & to act devastated. But later decided to just keep that in the movie for effect.
This thread has answered a lot of questions about the over dramatic filled scenes that we're over the top...Especially when Morris said to Prince . "How is the family". Which still was very cold . But would have been even more cold if that suicide/murder was kept in the movie... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! This is, indeed, how the story transpires in the released film. But it was a fairly late revision. Earlier drafts of the screenplay called for the Kid's dad to murder his mom and then himself. Very dark stuff.
