Dont be duh-ing nobody when you tried to be slick. Next time man up and respond that you were wrong. Dont go back and try to change things up as if you never said them, especially when you're damning the whole US community.

Gawd, why does someone have to tell you these things?

I don't know why but this seems lame.

I hope it turns out well though just to be positive.

Do you mean "Chaos & Disorder" by Jason Draper? I found that pretty pedestrian.

The Matt horne book's certainly pretty detailed but considering it comes from a Prince 'fan" it seems a bit turgid, alomst lacking in passion in parts...

I think it might've got a rename? I mean this one, couldn't find it at first: http://www.amazon.com/Pri...B001FOE94S

Ah, no, that seems completely different! I meant this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Prince-Disorder-Revolution-Jason-Draper/dp/087930961X/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1354288273&sr=8-2

...which quite frankly wasn't particularly wothwhile. Still love DMSR the best...

Firstly...thanks to the ICA for organising this event. Great to meet up and
chat with other fans celebrating a weekend of all things purple.

Didn't go to any of the screenings (seen the movies 100 times). But chilled
in the bar and attended the live events.

Matt Thorne discussed his bio on Prince and revealed a few interesting things
I wasn't aware of... Nice to meet him afterwards (thanks for signed copy of the
book specifically dedicated to the Ultimate Prince Weekender - this will be
given away exclusively in a raffle at the party in June). The Karaoke was what
it was... Katrna stole the show with her Alphabet St Cat rap.... sorry Pinder
wink

The 1hr+ version of Purple Rain performed by 19 guitarists each taking turns
to do a 4min solo (actually 18 guitarists + 1 horn player) was awesome and a
nice way to end the event.

I think generally everyone had a good time - beats saying in and watching
X-factor any day.

Hi Freedom, I was the guy having the ciggy outside and we had a chat, was nice to meet you although I think the beer had caught up with me at that stage.

I really enjoyed the evening and would defo go to other events they hold at the ICA. Absolute highlight for me was seeing PR on the big screen, although i have seen the movie hundreds of times, seeing it in a cinema was an amazing experience. I loved the fact they used an original reel which gave it a really authentic look. The karaoke was fun and the dancing after was nothing short of hilarious. Decided to pop in and see the end of SOTT with abit of a sing along which of course meant we missed the last tube home.

How was the Saturday part of the event, the guitar event sounds fantastic. Hope they arrange something similiar again sometime. Now all I have to do is convince my GF to go to the weekender event next year wink

Peace!

If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

Hi Whitnail... was nice to meet you too.

The 1hr+ performance of Purple Rain featuring guitar solos from 18/19 different guitarists was an interesting concept which I really enjoyed but might've been a bit much for some.

If they do this again I suggest they could possibly get a few concert film exclusives... and maybe arrange seminars with former band members/managers/studio engineers...

Convince your GF to come to the Ultimate Prince Weekender in June... I promise she wont regret it wink
