What Your Favorite Out-FAKE?

In memory of the worst bootleg that's ever been sold -- the truly awful "Rude Boy" release -- what's your vote for the most notorious Out-fake? That is, a supposed unreleased Prince track that in actuality was a legit song doctored by a fan, or worse yet, a track that had nothing at all to do with Prince at all.

Mine is "Qualified Kiss"...

Oh, and no need to mention "Hey Hannigan" biggrin

"All Over U," which is supposed to be Stevie Nicks and Prince collaborating but apparently isn't. I kinda wish it were, because I like it a lot.

There are so many but my all-time favorites would have to be:

"The Lord's Prayer"

"Cat Scratch"

"Heaven Over U"

what about that "Newz Groove" song? Wasn't that a fake?

And oh yeah that Rude Boy cd suuucked. Although it was the first

good sounding copy of the alternate take of Elephants & Flowers that

I got, so it had it's value to me for that.

Did ANYONE save that when Lou posted it? I wish I had.

Please, someone post it. Please tell me someone out there has it.

I believe "Qualified Kiss" was done by Mona Lisa. You still see this pop up on retail sites as a Prince track...

What about "Different Kinda Thang"? I know Tony LeMans did this, but there was also a version of this song that was believed 2 be Prince's.

I remember I started a thread like this once and it got moved to the non-prince forum.

My fave was always Andre Cymone's "Book Of Love" circulating as a Prince track during the Napster days (no, I had not heard every Prince-related project at the time).

Not an outtake, but this reminded me of the long debate that took place here over Bootsy Collins' "Groove Eternal" where folks thought that the featured guest artist was Prince under the name "One".

There's a great song called 'Are U Horny?' by a convincing soundalike. Not sure who he is tho. He also did another one called '69 Positions' or something like that. Pretty funky whoever he is.

Along this line, was it ever confirmed that Prince is on the Foley album 7 Years Ago....Directions In Smart-Alec Music? "Paisley Park" is credited as a musician but I don't recall Prince using that as an alias... http://youtu.be/UXd0Hf2ZsDA
