Take your War on Christianity to P&R!

How arrogant that this person assumes that the only non-existent, mythical deity that the previous poster could be referring to is a non-existent, mythical Christian deity. Just to be clear, all of the major world religions feature a non-existent mythical deity, they are all different non-existent mythical deities, and some of us are smart enough to realize that none of them exist. Unfortunately they are referred to a lot here, and often enough by Prince himself. That makes it a subject for discussion. But note that the God squad starts such discussions by mentioning non-existent mythical deities in the first place. One would do well to read a little Richard Dawkins before weighing in though.

Well, Vitriol is participating in the War on Christianity! If he moves over to the War on Islam, I'll let the Muslims fight that one!

Why would I want to read a book by the guy that hosted "Family Feud"?!? razz

this song is an AWKWARD attempt to romanticize and AWKWARD relationship with the child that is ANDY ALLO .. its so insincere and hokey .. you can tell it is a relationship on mutual using of each other while pretending its about something spiritual or musical .. andy gets press .. prince gets laid and tries desperately to convince himself something deeper is going on .. please prince .. this is not rock n roll .. there is no "love" affair .. and with music like this there is certainly no road ahead

Nailed it.

That was very well written. I dont agree with every word....but still, well written and effective.

Or are they all from a new tourbook? Was there one for the chicago

The photography is amazing. The graphic design amateurish. The photographs deserve much much better than text tacked on them like afterthoughts. The graphic design really tarnishes the photos. Prince needs to start coughing up the dough for great designers
He and his image deserve much better than this.

I heard this Great New Jam today on u.s. Radio. I had heard it before on the net, but riding in my truck, this song sounded so good. It was like a breath of fresh air! Stop hating on our man, it's genius within, you just gotta listen !!!

It's an aboslute mature & great track !

Anyone noticed the artwork of the CD single is very much in the spirit of the "When Doves Cry" artwork ? (except for the lack of the colour purple).

He even is using a typo for the word 'Prince' that somehow remembers to the 'Purple Rain' typo...

(or is it me ? )

Those 2 fonts are different.. wink

.

You're right, dance!

The original has a lot more edge and rigitity.

This latest one is a bit flat and flaccid.

Prost!

thumbs up!

It's been on the radio for weeks, where've you been wink

And it being released on a tiny euro-dance label, probably isn't going to have the funds behind it to get it played all over the US.

It doesn't get played on any radios where I am but I hope to hear it play while I'm in the car one day. So far I've only heard it via DrFb biggrin

As a fan, I guess I'm a little disappointed that this isn't some new-style direction from Prince that's going to blow me away...

But having said that, this is a decent pop tune that I'm starting to find myself humming, and as a song intended for radio-play, I think it does the job. The question is, whether or not the song is considered 'retro' or 'same old, same old'.

It kind of reminds me of when I first heard The Most Beautiful Girl In The World and thought; how bland, what the hell's he thinking? Even during its reign in the charts I felt it was a cop-out aimed squarely at the lurve market. Looking back though, it's a pretty solid piece.

It'll be interesting to hear what non-fans think of the new song once it starts (hopefully) getting played a bit more. We can see if Prince's faith in the song is justified.

It didnt have any airplay on german radios so far afaik.

The song is a mediocre song to me, nothing special, 5/10 as its best.

There are a quadrillion other Prince songs that might have been better for a single release imo.

Let me ask - what new-style direction is there left for Prince to take? With the possible exception of Western Swing and Speed Metal, I think Prince has explored pretty much every direction there is to take.

We don't know! Hence the term 'new'. I don't recall saying 'I Wish he'd try a genre someone else has done before'.

That's the thing about new things; you're unaware of them until they first appear.

When you discover it be sure to let us know what to expect.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!
