PARODY PRINCE TWITTER

I noticed there is a parody Prince account on Twitter that tweets mostly crap, but has over 20,000 followers. It says it's Prince tweeting and it looks like people think it's really Prince. What's more surprising, they all think Prince would be tweeting crap like this.

Anyone else noticed? neutral

Prince I will always miss and love U.

Which one are you talking about? Are we allowed to say names on here. I know of one that has 19,000 something followers and yeah it mostly is random stuff. But it's entertaining. Whats the twitpic they use, maybe we're talking bout the same person.

Anyway there are TONS of celebrity parody accounts that have lots of followers, because its fun. 4 the most part. lol

I think this one is called Princetweets2u? I was just a little perplexed, cause most of those people genuinely think it's Prince tweeting. I am sure you are aware it's not Prince, but many people belive it's really him and not a parody. I guess it kinda upsets me to see that people think Prince would be tweeting retarded nonsense like this, and I am sure most of the followers, and there are many, aren't even fans. You can tell that.

Why are there no parody accounts on any other superstars? I see no parody on MJ? Sorry, but I do have to much respect for Prince to be supporting parody, but this is my opinion. Particulary as a fan, I am not supporting nonsense like this. It makes him look like a brainless washed up singer. If I wasn't, then maybe it'd be cool. wink

I don't know I don't get that humour at all, at least I know it's parody. What about those nasty people following that aren't fans?

Sad times to be a Prince fan, these days!

What other celebrity parody accounts are there? I haven't checked, but do people know it's parody? I don't care anyway unless it's Prince.

Oh yeah, Princetweets2u that's exactly who I'm talking about! I think a lot of people probably do know he or she is not Prince and they are just playing along. I found that account like months ago.

Yes Ozlem, there are a bunch of parody accounts a lot of them are like for comedians, actors and the like, Chris Tucker, Katt Williams, Eddie Murphy to name a few that I've seen on Twitter. There are also like Britney Spears, Justin Bieber etc ones up there. People do know that its not actually the real person because the person who makes the account usually puts something like Bob Jones parody, NOT the real Bob Jones or something like that. The parody accounts are fun to me because they're usually like really exxagerate a part of the persons personality that their parodying. Like with the Prince one he tweets a bunch of random, abstract things that don't make a lot of sense.

Oh...and trust me there ARE parody ones of Michael. In fact there are like a hundred thousand Michael Jackson accounts on Twitter if you search and the real sad part is some of these people actually pretend to be him. Meaning that people actually believe that it is him. O-o

But yeah, the parody ones can be fun but sometimes annoying. Sorry If I typed a lot. I can get where you're coming from though, saying that it could be kinda disrespectful.

Ok, I didn't know about other parody twitter sites, cause I don't really follow them. As for Prince, trust me too many people that follow that nerd faker, don't know this is a parody account, cause it is not even funny, but also mocks down Prince with that parody.

I kinda understand if people think it's funny if they are not defensive fans like me. ( lol), but why would I find a tweet such as "electric purple" funny and support a Princy mockery, spcially at times when Prince is perceived as not making music anymore by the average Joe?!

lol Whatever, I guess that shall pass! neutral

Edit: I can bet with you that 90% of people following that paraody don't know more than 2 songs of Prince. So yeah, it's mocking down!
