Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

I remember wondering where he stored it on my way home from the Final Sydney concert. That stage is AWESOME!!! I didn't think he would bother bringing it all the way out to OZ........... But bring it he did & transported it up & down the East Coast.

Didn't it take about 20 days to get to Australia by boat from where ever it had previously been, perhaps it is sitting at a coastal location in the States waiting for its next trip??

What does one do with a stage set up like that when one has finished with it??

Scrap it. Much of the frame probably gets re-used in other projects or sold to recyclers. But the lighting and the floor will be worn out junk by the end of a tour.

Whew, that article had LOTS of info, quite technical. Didn't realize/think about what goes into a concert tour like this. Also did a search for the word "Prince" and read around that.

Thanks metallicjigolo.

I heard that being talked about on one of the radio stations here in Oz...... They said the stage left 4 weeks before Prince was due to perform his first show to allow for any 'hiccups'.

I'm guessing once Prince has finished with the stage it will be sold for a very handsome sum ( Where would a potential purchaser keep it?????) or destroyed . Perhaps there is room in his vault or a new one built for it. Perhaps it will be displayed in some type of music museum. We're talking about Prince, He probably doesn't even know!!!!!

ThePurpleYoda

There are 2 possablities in my head.

1st- A lot of times the artist's who tour dont even OWN the stage they perform on. Prince could have had the stage made, but it would be owned by "Live Nation" or whoever is promoting him. Therefore, when he is done with a tour, and/or contract, the stage is torn apart and stored in a big building along with other artist's custom stages, such as Aerosmith, Madonna, Janet Jackson, and any other artist who has big custom stages built, but are not owned. In essence, they are rented by the artists, and then after a tour, or after the artist decides it is time for a new stage, they are scrapped and rebuilt. Having said that, Prince's logo stage is a big piece of art, therefore I almost guarantee it will NOT be scrapped.

But take a look at the stage Prince used on the W2Euro tour. It was mainly an average rented stage, using bits and pieces of rented objects, such as the big "Eyeball" looking screen that was behind him, and the LED boards covering all of the instruments. I assume as soon as Prince left town, the stage was dismantled and used for other artists.

2nd Possability- Prince may own the stage, and it may be in storage. I would assume the stage would NOT be stored at Paisley Park, seeing as Prince doesnt stay there very often anymore. I would imagine if Prince DID own the stage, it would be stored in a warehouse near Los Angeles. Los Angeles is a pretty big "Touring" area for artists, and it is a place where easy acces to stage lighting and design choices are bery big. So, if he owned the stage, i would assume that it it chilling in pieces somewhere near there. lol smile

...I think i covered everything i was thinking.. wink
