Seeing as 1,015 so far have seen this thread and only around 20 bitter cynics have replied I would hazard a guess that many others didn't know this too.

If it's that obvious then why did so many people read this thread even though I gave the answer in the thread title?

Most of you who are saying it's obvious are probably just thinking 'shit, i didn't know this, but lets look like i'm cleverer than I am and agree it's obvious because other people have said it'...

wink

Praise to the fans on here honest enough to admit they weren't aware of this before either smile

If you listen @ 3:42 you can hear him actually pronounce "anaesthesia". And the backing vocal is pronounced "Anaesthesia" while the front vocal is pronouncing Anna Stesia at the same time. You can hear both depending on which you are focusing on.

For the same reason people slow down on the highway to look at an accident.

Also for the entertainment value. The response to the thread was entirely predictable.

All it took was to hear the song instead of getting lost in the groove, it was clear from FIRST LISTEN to me that he said "anaesthesia". shrug

^ Well Genesia at least you think I'm a 20 something, but those kind of comments about young people make you seem old!!! Age doesn't necessarily equate wisdom, you're living proof of this haha

Oh yes, now you can report and try to ban me again haha

Ooooh...ouch! rolleyes

I am old, honey - and I wouldn't go back if I could. In fact, the way things are headed, I wish I'd been born 10-15 years earlier.

The world your generation will inherit is going to be pure shit. Fortunately, you aren't smart enough to know the difference, so the personal impact will be minimal. Just take some Anna Stesia and kiss your ass good-bye. wave

It's the legacy left to us all by stupid people of every age, but specifically folks who are so stupid that they couldn't READ a song title, (without even needing to HEAR the song) and instantly realize it's a play on words. A pretty obvious and not at all subtle play on words, too. Stupidity is ageless. People like you had to stand on the shoulders of stupid giants of the past to got us to this point. Don't give all the credit to old dumb people. Don't sell yourself short.

I'll bet your dumb-ass believes Michael Jackon, James Brown and Prince all shared a stage together at some point in history, too.

Wait! 20 years later and I figured out that Steakfinger was being sarcastic! He's a genius!

^ Errr....they DID...it seems like you are the stupid one here. Honestly, the idiocy and bitterness of some of the posters here is ridiculous.

This is meant to be a fan site. If you don't appreciate insights into P's work then you shouldn't even be here. If you already know something, that's fine, but you don't have to shoot that person down in flames when in fact sharing that information could be useful to other fans.

If you're all so clever then start sharing your information rather than criticising people that do and making it like a petty competition...

No wonder P has nothing to do with the majority of his fans....

Nope. We just thought it was a joke thread and wanted to see what the punchline was. The 20 bitter cynics, (AKA people with AT LEAST the intelligence of a newborn with Down's Syndrome but without the feel-good everyone-deserves-a-trophy mentality) just had the free time to comment.

When the others realized it wasn't a joke and that you most certainly have some chromosome damage they simply left not wanting to add insult to your obvious injury.

I gave TheFreakerFantastic a bit of a hard time. but it was not meant to be mean or rude. Not everyone will get everything. It was clear to me... but I can see how it could be missed.

If I may: it was what Prince's 10th album? At the time, when it came out, I was on my way to the Army. I devoured it. As I had all his albums. But as there was what 103 songs? So each song was much more interesting... *I am referring to a sort of dilution of each new songs impact as it was compared to all the others that came before it. So it is not suprise that I would pick up on all these little things. (given that I spent hours looking at LPs and singles for secret messages...)

(i think 88 album songs counting lovesexy--but not "4 the tears im your eyes")

Don't listen to the bitter old folks wink

lol

I'm trying not to thanx wink

People seem to forget that the whole point of internet forums is to share knowledge and information with people with a similar interest. They are not there as an outlet for negativity and trolling but sadly this is what a lot of forums, although none as much as the .org, have become, which tends to put off the people who would make valuable contributions because they fear ridicule from people who are rather insecure themselves.

I don't mean me, I mean the many people who used to frequent this place who genuinely did have deep knowledge and a generous way with it. They didn't feel threatened if someone said something they already knew. Sadly, being intelligent they decided it was a waste of time and were put off by the negativity and left.

It's a shame though as these people had the most to give, ergo flamers and haters should not be tolerated as it will just make this place like a cess pit of trolls and the mods should kindly help enforce this more strongly preferebly by example.

What disagreement? Everybody and his or her brother knows what you "revealed" in this thread. You even say so in your thread title - "the meaning...has been staring at us all in the face."

And if I may say, you don't seem the least bit intimidated. Belligerent might be a better word.

Don't blame me for your shortcomings, Captain Obvious.
