I know that it was the original album before Lovesexy. I know that for some reason or another production was halted or the album was finished but then the decision was made not to release it and thus Lovesexy but I don't know why this happened. Was it Prince that decided that he didn't like the album anymore or did Warner Bros decide it? Why is it called the Black Album? (Which alludes to something dark imo) What was wrong with it that it wasn't released? And how come Pr ince was all like 'Don't buy the Black album...'

Or was it released? I've seen some people saying they have it or listened to it. Basically all I know is what I posted and that Lovesexy was the hastily assembled replacement or 'better' album so if anyone could care to share the story behind this with me I'm all ears.
