"you want a cool banjo solo by Prince?"

Is the banjo playing his in "Graffiti Bridge"? You know..the scene where Morris and Jerome are throwing down dollar bills? Always wondered about that.

As far as it goes with him doing a counrty record, I'll pass. Plus there's already some songs that he's written has a 'slight' country feel to them.."Right The Wrong" has a counrty/blues feel to it..and the solo has some nice psuedo 'chicken-pickin' licks to it.

Didn't he (back in the late 80's) start work on a record with Bonnie Raitt that was later scrapped or shelved?

i think duelling banjos (which is in deliverance) is what was in GB

the bonnie raitt track was just a typical prince track and not country sounding, which is probably why it wasn't released

I always thought "When You Were Mine", The One U wanna C", and "Cream" (even though it kind of sounds like T-Rex's "Bang A Gong") could be done as country songs.

"I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man" could work as a country song, too

It is a shame some people are so closed off to an entire genre of music. It is true most of the popular corporate garbage now labelled country is removed from the real origins, history, or talent of the of the genre. I think it would be interesting to see him work with the likes of Dolly Parton, Charlie Pride, Willie Nelson, Dwight Yoakam, Linda Ronstadt, Lorett Lynn, Jack White and The Eagles.

I know the original doesn't sound country as it is, but it could be re-done in a country style. Keep the rockabilly-style beat, but trade the keyboards on the original version with lap-steels and make the guitars more twangy-sounding (trade the Hohner Tele for a Gretsch hollow-body guitar or something like that).

Oh noooooo - you are losing me now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a husband that was a blue grass/country fan - drove me nuts - the songs about how my dog died, my love one was lost to me, and I cannot stop drinking - poor me songs -

cant stand it.

Dolly, Charile, Willie - does he really want to be seen with them????????????

I always think country is way too depressing - and twangy.

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

Right The Wrong is already more than enough of Prince trying country for me, thanks.
