A Prince song that isn't mentioned a lot and which I think deserves some attention. I remember when I first heard it over a decade ago that I had to listen several times to realize the full scope of its quality. The melody and the arrangement make it feel like such an original composition and with a serious message about being positive. After four minutes the song suddenly goes into this really cool melody: "In every man's life there will be a hang-up..." Today I like Positivity even more because it's proven to have a timeless quality.

What's your opinion?

My favorite song from Lovesexy. Definetly in my top 20 Prince songs ever. Very different from anything else he's done. Also there was a topic on it not too long ago

Not my favourite song on Lovesexy. Tune is not catchy enough for me. Nice thought though, have you had your plus sign today?

I always skip this track. The music is boring and the chorus is insipid.

I like the song. Too bad it was dropped shortly after the start of the Lovesexy tour, except for a few US aftershows. Mavis Staples did a cover of it on her 2nd Paisley Park release.

Alphabet Street is a much smarter tour closer though

Agreed! Positivity would have been too mellow.

Positivity is one of the best from Lovesexy. I like the rap-singing combo too it sounds like there is an underlying track of Prince just speaking the whole song in there somewhere.

This is his most underrated song imo becauase while others dont get mentioned, this is actually an A+ song.

One of my favourites.

Very creative and unique. His vocals towards the end of the track are wonderful.

Cool song. I actually grew to like this song over the years. P's guitar work on this cut is killer too.
