Purple Rush

Ok. I am aware that this might be going way back for a lot of people but WHAT is Purple Rush exactly?? I just heard part of Billy's Sunglasses and it gave me goosebumps.

Also, DMSR is not just a song, it's a book?

confuse

Help a sister out! (yes, I appear to be white)

Yes, Prince. If we got married that WOULD be cool.

Also, if your advice is to have all the official albums first otherwise I'm not a true dedicated fan, please save it.

'DMSR' is a song by Prince

'DanceMusicSexRomance: Prince - The First Decade' is a biography of Prince written by Per Nilsen

ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

Some of the material on the PR series can now be found in vastly improved quality. The Purple Rush series were good at the time, but are now very outdated.

Are there any improved versions of the 7th Entry and the "Too Sexy" live performances? hmmm

This http://main.thedigitalgar...anced.html imo is possibly one of the better versions of the 7th St Entry show. Another old but good one is this http://main.thedigitalgar...entry.html. I'm not sure if the SaTim version is any better than that on the Purple Rush disc as I simply cannot remember, and I can't check right now, but this version also has the inclusion of the wonderful 1983 piano rehearsal.

As for Too Sexy, I don't think I have that version so I can't compare to that of which is on Purple Rush.

It's difficult to remember all the different versions, it's been a while since I listened to any of that stuff.

wink

As always, you come through. I've been wearing out the "Africa Talks To You" performance for so long, but I wasn't content with the quality I already have. This info def serve the purpose.

T's version is the best. the tweaked one was done from T's source. i don't think he was that impressed with the tweak. it didn't really make any improvement as such, but i don't think there was a huge difference so grab what you can

I have heard people say that they think that T's is the better version. I quite like them both.

It's a great wee set.

OMG, without those links I would never have known any of that existed. Thank you so much!
