youtube attitude and me the prince fan.

Recently i had two run-ins with youtube one over a small piece of footage from a rihanna concert in scotland and one over a little experiment i made on youtube to celebrate prince "welcome 2 Australia" tour. The whole ugly incident began with me being warned by Rihanna Fenty(ALLEGEDLY)over 2 minutes of footage i put on you tube at the start of the concert at a previous night of her tour last year.It took two seconds for them to warn me and make me go through a test and video to make sure i understood the seriousness of what i had done.I didnt watch the video and got five out of five with the questions.Recently i used an advert for prince in australia and the tune "i rock, therefore i am" and i got the same shit even though it took youtube and A Controversy music 30(ish)days to warn me with an e-mail and put me through the same moronic 5 questions.I seem to remember a decade ago Prince endorsed Napster when they had been much naughtier. The whole copyright thing annoys me.were does it start and were does it end???.I had done a few things that i percieved as harmless and there must be a million swear words i want to fling at controversy. In the publicity stakes using a record on youtube to announce prince had arrived seemed harmless enough as it was from a cd that i doubt will sell anymore in double figures.Prince brings an album out i will buy it.I'm unsure when controversy was connected to prince as we have NPG records, warner, and this mob.I feel these dickh'#ds went overboard as prince is my hero, idol, and probably the greatest musician ever.I just want to say that to controversy music,YOU(TUBE)suck and i will always be loyal despite this crap.what do prince orgers think over the issues listed?.As you know i have a facebook fanpage and i dont get shit for that.please lets here opinions and who are controversy again??.<img src=" /><img src=" />

Controversy Music is Prince's publishing company, so it makes sense that entity was involved in the complaint.

I don't ever remember Prince endorsing Napster! He was always against file-sharing.

Copyright shouldn't annoy you - it is there to protect your hero. It starts with someone owning the material created and stops with them having the right to decide how and where that music is used and presented (to a certain degree, there are exceptions). It may seem harmless what you're doing, but YouTube are now having to pay artists for music usage on YouTube (and about time!). Hence, they're not really going to want to pay millions of extra dollars because people think its ok for them to use copyrighted works just for fun/personal pleasure, never mind how many Prince albums you buy.

At the end of the day, you can't complain about making up a broadcast with something that isn't yours and will end up costing someone else money. Would you put up with other people just helping themselves to the fuel in your car for their own enjoyment? I don't think so!

If you're so sure it's a "joke" (which it obviously isn't), why do you keep on trying to persuade us, look for evidence and keep on mentioning you know it's not photoshopped when it actually is? Why don't you just face the truth?

I am glad that he is getting paid for the videos that now appear on YouTube because it can only increase & educate a new generation of his talent. While on the subject, who ever you are who spreading the rumors that the videos are being pulled from the site needs to stop lying and whle I'm at it, if you have videos on the site that have fake music to bogus music in place of the correct music; please do me a favor & remove it.

My very first YouTube account in 2005/2006 was deleted because I posted videos of the Prince Tribute from the American Idols Live Tour 2004. I uploaded "Purple Rain" and "When Doves Cry" twice, but uploading it again made them shut me out.

I think we have to be patient. It seems new concert footage is a big no-no although gee some is really well taken. Too many though oversaturate the tube. I don't think bad footage should be allowed, it would really put off a new fan and give the wrong impression.

What I've noticed is that in the last year or so, there is a lot of Prince stuff to be enjoyed. Concerts, (older ones), tracks, audio specifically but also I suppose some of them of bootlegs. It doesn't explain though why some famous tubers have had to disappear but then reappear a year later. That's rather puzzling. The last video I checked, the message was 'taken down by the user' which is a little friendlier than the so called.......King or whatever mad

My advice to you OP, is to upload something but with no language associated to Prince at all and hope people will find it. Put in something cryptic and let people hunt their easter eggs. Might bring you less views but it might make life less frustrating too. biggrin I think this battle will be ongoing until there's a workable solution. Prince has always had to battle for the things he wants (besides talent) so he's not going to stop and there is 'his' side to all too. Enjoy what you have for now and lets sit it out.

1. Hey handsome, you take a mighty fine picture over there. How you doin, baby?

2. You might be a little wrong on this, no? I first watched that video - JB and MJ, MJ apparently tells him Prince is there, and a maybe drunk Prince being carried onstage to play guitar - years ago. I didn't know it got taken down though. It'll come back.

First of all, let me ask you a couple of questions: are you female? Are you hot? If so, how much would you pay me?

Alright, now that we've got this settled...

It's fake.
