Is it worth it? How much information is in it? Do you guys know of any better books I could get?

I always think of that when someone says "its settled" because thats what Hermey said to Rude, Yukon Cornelius the night they were sleeping at island of misfit toys..."Then it's settled..we leave tommorow" referring to them all leaving to rescue the fam..but Rudy left in the midddle of the night by himself in secret because his nose put them in danger from the Ab Snowman....lemme stop

Its a great book, very accurate and well written. But do bear in mind its only up to 1987. It actually finishes with the Black Album. Nilsen is a good author and theres some great interviews with Dez Dickerson, Alan Leeds, Susan Rogers and Karen Krattinger.

Great book! Covers the first 10 years of Prince's career. It can be considered a Prince Bible so to speak, as it has great interviews from people that were there with him in and outside the studio. Gives a good insight as to who Prince is and how albums came to be (or not). Per Nielson other books, The Documentary, Days of Wild, Turn It Up and The Vault are also must haves if you can still find them.

Yep, that's where I discovered it a couple of weeks ago looking up some info on the origins of Bob George... not sure exactly how the "preview" works on Google books, but I was able to read as much as I wanted...

I then went to find it on the Nook, to no success. So, I'm in the market for a hard copy myself. Very good reading.

Now I'm curious.

The best Prince book there is, in my opinion (but I don't have The Vault). I'd really recommend tracking down Prince: A Documentary as well, since with all those great photos, it's more of an 'experience'...

But I can't find it anywhere.

I agree, the VAULT is the only book I ver want to read. I have had to make do with a 1993 version of "Prince - A Documentary" for at least 18 years now. Its dogearred beyond all belief. Can't they just update the vault and release it back out.

If you send me $85.00, I'll go to the library & copy it for you. Just kidding...I don't think its worth that much.

$85? hmmm are you the type of person who love to own books? Like hard copies? K that sounded weird...

personally I don't care how in depth it is, I don't think I would pay that much for a book that's not even written by Prince.

But plz, let me know if any of these books become available for Kindle lol
