I'm also gonna go out on a limb and say he's seen a lot of the 1970's martial arts and blaxpoitation films as a youth. Particulary "Superfly". A lot of the vibe he carried in 1988 during the "Lovesexy" era reminded me of Ron O'Neal.

A Scanner Darkly.

He loved that film enough to spend a whole night talking to the director until the sun came up.

Yes! You had mentioned that before, I think. I think you said that you talked w/ the director sometime afterward, and when you asked about Prince, the director said his face and hair were perfect (or something like that).

As to this thread, I think he was watching some Cary Grant movie in the pic that Andy Allo posted, was it not "Philadelphia Story"? Also, he's said to be a fan of Clara Bow and Marilyn Monroe, so I assume he's seen some of their movies.

I don't know, just assuming from lyrics used in songs which I think, is what most are doing on this thread?

In one of The 2001 NPGMC era songs, can't remember which one he says something like "how dare you call a robot Mecca". Referring to the biblical/Islamic place of pilgrimage and in the movie the robots are called Mechas.
Just somewhere in the middle,

The Prince & The Showgirl...I assume, from Vanity's song "Samuelle"

"Mecha" has been around as a term for various kinds of fictional robot since at least the 80s, though.

He was imitating the kid saying "Redrum" repeatedly in one of the 1999 tour rehearsals as well.

he's seen the ray charles movie, and part of jersey girl. he walked out halfway through when george carlin started saying "shit" a few times

he's also seen happy feet as it was shown to him at paisley when they wanted to use his music and he said no, but gave them a song

he's quite a film buff and regularly rents out the cinema for private screenings so has probably seen quite a lot of movies

I remember an article a few years back where he was with Bria in Italy and purchased several Fellini flicks smile I wonder if he's ever seen Bergman films. I think he would really dig Persona.

I think he is a film buff as well but I do remember an interview on TRL and a fan asked him a question about movies. He said he didn't watch movies or something to that effect. Yet he talks or sings about the different movies he has seen. Go figure. It doesn't really matter anyway.

What ever porn movies mentioned the Accu-Jack back in the '70's. I guess he saw those, or at least one of them.

I need to listen to it again but Faye Pridgeon's "They're the muthafuckin' sidemen" comes to mind. Once I hear the song I can give you more...
