cool

I never understand all the hate for It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night. We got a live Prince recording on an official album. There's no way I'd get rid of it.

Out: Slow Love

id replace its going to be a beautiful night with one of the more live recordings, maybe the one where he threatens to kick the crowd's ass

There's some heretical thoughts in this thread - Removing Dorothy Parker? Housequake? Sacrilege! demon

Removing "Housequake" is just absurd! lol that's the funkiest track on the album.

"It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night" is decent, but I woundn't miss it if it were gone.We would have found it on a live bootleg anyway (lol),so there was no need for it to be on the album.

that's weird bigbrother i was thinking of this Q just yesterday, but with replacing Satisfied from 3121 with something else cuz it doesn't fit the contour of the rest of the set.

I'd leave Slow Love on the album cuz my ears aren't acute enough to tell the difference between one reel of magnetic tape and the other, and it is better than Adore in many ways, and therefore the whole rest of the album should be replaced with Slow Love played for 88 minutes, with DVD commentary from Moon Unit Zappa.

In my opinion I would take off Dorothy Parker, It, slow Love and Beautiful Night and just leave it a one cd set. I NEVER listen to that cd much because of those as it just bores me. The B-sides from that era would be cool in their place if I had to replace them. a 1cd set is fine for me though

The door is that way... wave

Really? Just because I did not like 4 songs on a cd!!?? REALLY!!?? Wow if it is like that on here fuck this site. Some fans on here really ruin this website and honestly make me hate Prince. What a shame. I will take you advice and hit the door. Peace out playa!!

No way! I wouldn't replace one song on that album. The only slightly weak song is It. I agree w/ Efan that All Day, All Night would be a stellar replacement. But, really I like It and think that it has its place on the album. I am truly satisfied w/ SOTT.

"U Got the Look" does not really fit, I could see ditching it.

All of you that are suggesting dropping "It's Gonna Be a Beautiful Night" need to be slapped. Hard.

Why would anyone fuck with a genius album like SOTT?

This is like Hollywood remaking great movies. Leave the good stuff alone. You're supposed to remake the shitty stuff - because there's almost no chance of making that worse.

Same sentiments here..every song on every album from from 1978 to 1989 belongs right where it's at. Post 1990, do what you will with those releases but the initial run is perfect.

Which is why I suggested a massive five album set collecting the best material circa 1985-1986. Or maybe a six album set. Or seven. Or eight. lol

Brilliant album, SOTT:

I would NOT remove/ replace a single note from/ on the Sign O' The Times album.... heart

SOTT is so strong all the way through,

-- even those socalled 'weaker' songs like Slow Love, It and Play In The Sunshine are very strong songs compared to the Prince songs since 1995/ The Gold Experience.. those are much stronger songs than anything on NPS, Rave, Musicology, 3121, PE, 20Ten...

Auch.. biggrin

Remove one song? It. No question. All My Dreams is one of my top 5 of all time, but don't think it would have worked in the context of the rest of the album.

Alternatively replace Slow Love with When 2 R In Love.
