Prince or Michael Jackson by Snoop Dogg

Skip onto 2:45 in his Valentines day GGN news that can be found here and Snoop talks about the music of the two artists

Now which Prince songs would Snoop Dogg sample?

He did a cover of The Time track 'Cool' which was written by Prince.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

"F*ck that play your own instruments sh*t ... we got computers n sh*t" ???

blimey, is that why every Snoop album after Tha Blue Carpet Treatment has been whacked out boutique shopping wallpaper?

I had no idea about the Cool cover though, woulda been a nice surprise if i'd been buying records in 08!

The most obvious Snoop sampling P would be 18 n Over, if only for the obvious P pastiching Snoop Dre in the first place!

Every artist has the right to decide what can be done with their music (if they own the publishing that is). I really hope snoop is joking with his attitude regarding Prince. I totally think him downing Prince for being able to play his own instruments is ridiculous. If he likes the music he and his 100"s of musicians and computers are creating, then why does he need to sample Prince in the first place?Just a thought.

Actually Snopp's comments are EXCATLY why Prince does NOT allow these cats 2 sample his work.

He just proved Prince's POINT loud and clear.

A bunch a hip hop artists sampled Prince's music. What the fuck is he talking about?

Funny how he dismisses the fact that Prince plays all instruments as if anybody can do it. That's why Snoop Dog is featured in Katy Perry, Big Time Rush, Far East Movement songs because he has no credibility as a rapper but a fucking sellout.

Well, the only good stuff he ever did was full of P-Funk riffs. I haven't heard any music made by his computers that was any good... He's just pissed cause Prince says no to him. Get in line Snoop.

Prince is actually cool for doing that.. Most artists would accept just to make some cash but he choses to stick with what he believes is better for his music...

he sounds scorned... not sure why any of you would get upset with these comments. There is some truth in them as far as Prince not being in hip hop and that has been interntional

the muscian comments were disrespectful but what do you expect from Snoop? He is a hustler a rapper with no musical background

snoop is old as hell and needs to sit down thats for sure.... when I saw him in that Katy Perry video it ruined it for me

go some where and sit down old man

i admit snoop was great in the 90s, but i havent heard anything worth listening to since the next episode. i'm always confused as to how people give him so much credit until i remember he marketed himself(sold out?) extremely well

Dissapointed in what Snoop said, I hope he is joking, because I am fan of his.

Just comes across as real bitter. Prince wrote, and worked hard creating those masterpieces, he has every right whether to allow someone to sample his stuff or not.

Snoop needs to STFU. Prince is a musical genius, respect is due. None of his homies play like Prince and he knows it. confused Sit down Calvin. He's just mad because Prince has his shit on lock, and rightfully so.

Morris Day and Time doesn't = masterpiece...more like master crap....and according to Snoop, Prince won't let anybody touch even that.

I love Prince, but dude has got the biggest ego maybe of all-time. There might not be a more pretentious, full of shit, full of himself musician in the history of rock n' roll....and that's saying something.

Snoop used to be a better rapper than 2pac and Biggie? The only aspect of rapping Snoop was better at than 2pac was freestyling. As far as Snoop being better than Biggie, that's a stretch. Snoop only had one great album, Big got 2.

Rhythm n Gangster was a masterpiece though - pisses all over Paid Tha Co$t (to be tha Bo$$), though that did have Batman and Robin on it.

And if I have to rely on a computer to check whether Signs (ft J Timbalake) was a real band or a very clever piece of tempo mis-mapping to confuse Serato users... well

it's a load of fuss to be making over a youtube series after the likes of Charlie Sheen's winning thing whose name escapes me. Winning? I'll have that diamond encrusted gold monocle in Google Weed Spot Bluetooth please!

And besides, it's not about sampling Michael Jackson. it's about sampling Quincy Jones!
