Tangerine

Y'all can make fun of me, but I love this song. It's really a lovely little ditty. The short version on Rave un2 is nice, but the longer cut on Rave in2 is my preference. I dig it.

It's actually MY favorite track from 'Rave IN2 The Joy Fantastic'! smile

It took me a while to realize, but as much as I listen to it, I realize it's MY favorite from the WHOLE project! I don't know? IT JUST IS!!! lol The guitar is SO emotional and beautiful! It's just totally inspiring! smile

I liked it first time I heard it. I like the slightly longer version on In2 even more.

The lyrics are what stand out to me the most.

Love it.

I like it, but the longer version really makes it.

See, I think I might like the edit just a little bit more. Dig both of 'em.

I often find myself singing "What's it like inside your tangerine?" when I first think of this song. Then I'm like, "Oh wait.. that's wrong."

It's a lovely tune and has a chunk of Clannad in the guitar/keyboard/drum refrain that makes me smile and think of Sherwood Forest.

i completely love it when prince releases these off center short little songs.

stuff like this and "all the midnights", "papa", "the rest of my life" etc.

there's hardly a song of his that clocks in under 3 minutes which i do not

like. they're always fun and quirky and lend themselves extremely well to

repeated listening.

i've often made playlists with all his -3 minutes songs on them and there is

not a bad one in the bunch. except fcuz "my little pill" which is just a bit too

weird for it's own good.

and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

nice, short, sweet, heartfelt

proof that Rave is a fine mainstream album which gets a bad rep due to some awful fillers...

one song that clocks in at a minute and a half does not make for a fine album.

I never thought that much about it before now, but I think I agree with you. I think I love all of his under-three-minute songs.
