This is a Morality Question.

This is a touchy subject about music and the morality behind making the music.

I Love Prince's Sexual music as much as I love the Spiritual. For those people that have read my recent posts, they know as a Prince fan, I am not happy with the age difference between Prince and Andy Allo because of the "Flirtatious," behavior that has existed between them.

I realize two things...One, it's show business. Two, Prince's perspective knows the age difference between Andy Allo and himself is recognized.

Any man is easily stimulated by beautiful and talented women of any age. I understand that...

Given the Profound understanding that music listener's "Use," music as a tool in their own personal lives for sexual stimulation. ex: When a couple plans a romantic evening by the fireplace at home, someone is putting on their flavor of sound for the night.

If you know that the artists producing the music are 30 years apart in age...would it bother you to be sexually stimulated by music made by this age difference? I realize that it is not "Pornography," but You can use pornography as an example to make a point.

The point is...Regardess of pornography being something that I have outgrown as a person and no longer find it necessary...20 years ago when I did watch some in my marriage, I would have been bothered by a man of 50 years old with a woman that was 20.

I realize that Prince will feel and do whatever he likes.

If a duet album that Prince and Andy make intends to sexually stimulate or even romance the music listener....I'm getting off of the Prince Love Boat. Because of my spiritual growth.

Is there anyone else here willing to admit that they will be disappointed? Or is everyone in this room convinced that the reason's music is made, (For Money, Fame, Creativity) means that no spiritual guidelines apply?

It's an uphill climb to the finish line.

You need a third option - I won't be disappointed, because my take on spirituality doesn't recognise age in the same way that yours obviously does.

Providing both partners are sexually and emotionally mature enough to engage in such activities (usually around 18yo), the age difference is of no consequence imo.

I also don't think that money, fame and creativity are the reasons music is made. Rather, one is the source and the other two are the occasional consequence. Anyone trying to make music with the primary purpose of making money isn't a musician - they're a producer.

I'm not sure this has anything to do with 'Profound understanding'.

Some people put some background music on to create a mood. There's nothing profound to understand.

I suspect most couples don't start getting unnecessarily concerned about whether or not the people who recorded the mood music where born thirty years apart and appear to have flirted with each other on stage. In my case, my mind is on other things. I don't suddenly turn around to my partner and say,

"I know this might sound selfish, darling, but can we please not dim the lights and use those candles you bought last week. I checked up and there are rumours going around that the CEO of that candlestick manufacturer might have been flirting with a woman who is thrty years younger than him. I'm concerned that lighting those candles might not be good for our spiritual growth"

True. But if some Purple music is playing in the background during the deed, there may be an occasional factoid that needs to be addressed... "Uhhh... yeah, right there, that's it... oh, by the way, Prince recorded this album in less than a week... uhnnn... uhnnn..."

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Absoultely! To be fair I always record our sessions - not for later private viewing, you understand - but if I suddenly work out a bit of lyric that's playing in the background and has been confusing me for years, the chances are that I can usually whisper it passionately without it being out of context and the microphone will pick it up. Then, I'm able to retrieve it later for my transcription records! Win-win!!

Now my problem is that I'm going to completely get the giggles next time I'm listening to Prince in an intimate moment...imagine trying to explain why?!

"Oh, don't worry honey, it's not you. It's just that, well, there was this thread on the org...no wait, don't stop!"

This may not be related, but my wife finds "Do Me, Baby" really creepy and skips over it, whereas I enjoy it and just laugh at his studio orgasm. Which is odd because she is attracted to men and I'm not.

Prince gotta have that YOUNG PUSSY! It keeps him young! It would be wrong for him to mess with a minor! She's old enough. It's all about maturity level, because I know some older women that don't know their ass from a hole in the ground! It sound like your making your decision off man's religion than spirituality!

This is an intriguing question! Thanks for that. If you're interested it, i've added my 5 cents to the debate below.

Are you saying that Prince acknowledges the age difference? Or Prince acknowledges something of a serious relationship between him and Andy? Publicly i mean, cause I don't think either are the case. Furthermore in Prince's perspective "age is nothing than a number". [see: The Morning Papers]

If you know that the artists producing the music are 30 years apart in age...would it bother you to be sexually stimulated by music made by this age difference? I realize that it is not "Pornography," but You can use pornography as an example to make a point.

Basically if you're talking Prince and Andy, would that arouse me: hellsyeah! But consider that I, and probably a lot of ppl on this forum, as well as probably a lot of ppl in the world in general would not consider Prince as your average 50-something'er. He doesn't look 50, he doesn't act 50. Face it, he's a Sexy MF, still at 50. To put it bluntly, i'd see him doin' Andy (and vice versa) big time. With rose pedals, fireworks, complicated sexual positions and all. biggrin Yeah, there's a big age difference, but what's the use being a rock star of Prince's stature if you couldn't pull it of (figuratively speaking of course wink)

If you'd be talking, well, let's say Barbra Streisand and Justin Beiber... not so much.

In that sense I agree with Prince in that age IS just a number, although I'd like to personally add to it that numbers can be important.

The point is...Regardess of pornography being something that I have outgrown as a person and no longer find it necessary...20 years ago when I did watch some in my marriage, I would have been bothered by a man of 50 years old with a woman that was 20.

Again, are we talking ALL 50-year old men? And is 50 questionable, or 20, or both?

I think that I understand what you are saying, however, if Prince sings a song with explicit sexual content, that is looking at Prince as if he is engaging mentally and emotionally with someone that could be his daughter.

In my personal feeling, Prince used to appeal to my sensitive psychological heart.

When you tamper with visualization that comes from music's imagery, In my heart, Prince flirting with a young girl is a spiritual turn-off. To the point where I would no longer trust his music as something that will feel good to listen to...Even if it sounds wonderful.

It's an uphill climb to the finish line.

I suppose it isn't profound to realize people have sex to music, but, going into the candle stick employee fling is at a completely different level.

We know that sex sells, and I'm sure Prince and Andy having lyrical sex will appeal to people in her generation without a bruise to the mind.

It's an uphill climb to the finish line.

I love the song "Do Me Baby," and maybe your wife feels shy about it or something, I don't know.

For some reason a woman my age or older than I am can be a turn on for me...Such as Donna Summer's, "Love 2 Love ya baby." Although if an 18 year old diva is climbing the charts selling sex that way, my heart isn't going to be open to being sexually turned on by that person.

Seriously, now! The man and the music are two different things! Marvin Gaye fell in love and wrote a song about a teenage girl called Jan when he was in his thirties. He, just like Sly Stone and Keith Richards used tons of drugs. James Brown beat women. So did David Ruffin of the Temptations. Yet My Girl is one of the sweetest pieces of music ever. None of this ever stopped me from loving their music.u

In your eyes it keeps him young...In my eyes he looks like a Grand-daddy having a mid-life crisis.

It is about his religion and his spirituality in connection with mine.

I don't have to continue to emotionally support Prince music in a behind the scenes way anymore.

I can simply say that I loved Prince for 33 years but my attraction to his music took a sad turn. It would be because the man whose career I follow disappointed me in this religious light.

If I can no longer tie Spirituality and Sexuality together in the designer...I'm not going to need the design.

So Prince can choose to appeal to the money making market as an artist, or he can appeal to the mature individual that has divine qualities being taken into consideration.

Sometimes the difference between putting a man's choices on a pedestal vs. a paper plate, are issues such as these.

It's an uphill climb to the finish line.
