Prince is drawn into the MJ Conrad Murray case

No idea if this was mentioned before on the org, but sky news aired MJs reason for initially doing 31 dates at the O2 as doing '10 more than Prince'. The concert promoter answered the lawyer just moments ago on The Jackson trial being aired live.

I heard that, too. I have mixed emotions because it solidifies the "rivalry" between Prince & Michael, and I believe MJ's intentions were in good competitive spirit. On the other hand, it really really sucks MJ wasn't alive 2 even have 1 show. Wonder how Prince feels about MJ's 31 vs his 21? I'm proud 2 be an obsessed fan of both Geniuses!
SO WHAT IF WE'RE CONTROLLING ALL THE OIL, IS IT WORTH THE CHILD DYING 4?

I love the sort of MJ vs Prince rivalry, not as a serious rivalry just fun. I keep getting this mental image of Prince and MJ sitting in a room chilling with the news, "This just in, Michael Jackson is doing 31 shows at the O2"

Prince: *Glares intensley*

MJ: *Shit eating grin*

I recall a passage or two in J. Randy Taraborrelli's biography of MJ that he (MJ) felt very competitive with Prince. In contrast, Prince, at least in the interviews I've read or watched, had nothing but decent things to say about MJ.

I suspect a lot of the 'rivalry' was media-manufactured by the tabloids, though I tend to believe Taraborelli's report must have had more than a grain of truth in it. And yes, and I'm fully aware of all the MJ fan criticism of Taraborelli, etc. It's still a very thoroughly-researched book.

You didn't finish it.

Prince: shrug

MJ: dead

'This Is It' director Kenny Ortega said on Oprah that Michael talked about Purple Rain numerous times and how much he admired Prince....

^Also Kenny said MJ told him that they needed to get to a recording studio quickly so that God (who MJ said gave him the music ideas) wouldn't give the song the song idea to Prince. Such a sweet man, ashame what his family is going through.

Frank Dileo (MJ & Prince's ex manager) already confirmed that two years ago after the sad tragic death of MJ. Frank said MJ really wanted to beat Prince record. I hate to say it. As talented & gifted as MJ was. I never felt he could beat Prince record of 21 nites .Prince has more stamina than MJ. Plus Mj was not strong enough physically. He just wasn't. sad

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

So true Michael wasn't strong enough physically. I remember watching : This is it, thinking he seem very weak. It is ashame some people can have so much money and still not be happy. I miss Michael so much! I will always love Michael and Prince. It dosen't matter who the world think is the best performer. They both are very talented, In my eyes they will always be the greatest male musicians! It will never be another Prince or Michael Jackson and I'll always love them both!

There is the report from Alan Leeds that Prince snuck off to the opening night of the Victory Tour because "he had to see what Mike was doing." He then ran out of the show when he was recognized by fans.

Funny. I was thinking just the same. Of course, it didn't have anything to do with it, but it is funny. Although, Michael could have chosen it not just to do 10 more, but also as a nod to Prince on 3121.
