How many versions of this song exist? I'm listening to the Dream Factory version and it sounds like more drums/congas and it's longer than the SOTT version hmmm maybe it's just me lol

I think it is longer I love both but I think the Prince version with the middle eastern instrumentation sounds better, feels more indepth than the Camille version

I'm glad he let Wendy & Lisa pull this one out of the vault

They started playing this during Billy's Sunglasses

1. There's a piano demo/rehearsal from 1982 on a boot called Intimate Moments
2. The original 1982 studio recording (not circulating)
3. The 1986 reworked version by Lisa and Wendy intended for Dream Factory
4. The released version from SOTT which has Wendy and Lisas contributions either taken away or buried deep in the mix making it more like the original 1982 version except for the Camille vocals

Anyone know the story on how W&L ended up resurrecting this song? Surely Prince dips into the vault but to let someone else do so seems odd. I wonder if there are any other released tracks that he let them pull from the vault?

I think Prince just gave them the tape of the original 1982 version and asked them to imput their ideas. Not sure to what extent Lisa and Wendy contributed to the following:
I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man (originally from 1982)
Raspberry Beret (originally from 1982)
Teacher Teacher (originally from 1982)
We Can Funk (originally We Can Fuck from 1983)
Wonderful Ass (originally from 1983)
Girl O My Dreams (originally from 1982)

I'm sure there are others but these are the ones I can think of for now

Unfortunately not. For some reason though, I suspect that the original sounds similar to Little Red Corvette. I imagine that the one we know uses the basic tracks of the original. It would be easier to determine if the high hats weren't so loud in the mix.
