Does Prince play Dance or Electro Music?

When I work out my body, I enjoy doing it on Dance Music, on a whatever the radio, as this kind of Music gives me some good rythm to move my body..

I was meantime while working out, thinking about Prince and Dance or Electro Music, I wonder whether he experiences those kind in his "lab", does he play those kind? If yes, I wonder how that sounds like..I really wish I could be part of the ones in his Lab" to be penetrated by all kind of music he plays...

What do you think about that?

Maybe a remix?

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

fun question - i'd say some tunes like "all the critics", "controversy", "loveleft loveright", "strange but true" and "chocolate box" are borderline dance/electro.

basement jaxx mashed up "critics" a while back. the peter black controversy remix is a class act.

also the stuff remixed by william orbit is pretty avant garde (the future, batdance).

Oh and there are a few Shelter dance mixes around that are pretty darn good.

It's a matter of opinion, of course, but I would consider the following dance music (for starters)...

The Human Body

New World

Hynoparadise

On some of the remix or maxi-play, there are some that come close as does Human Body and New World. Hope there isn't any future songs

Off course Prince playes Electro music.

Prince along with some of his peers at the time basiclly

invented Electro-Funk genre .

Most of his 1982-1986 period is based on electronic sound

inspired by Human League,Kraftwerk

but with funkier twist.

1999 album is the blue print of Electro Funk sound and i

find some of the Dirty Mind album also fiting

into category.

Not only he invented Electro Funk he have also inspired a lot of electro, indie electroclash, house, techno artists.

Sad thing is he lost the touch with being electro without sounding cheesy but that is another storie.

I do believe that if he remasterises some of his tunes with electronics effects and synth, he'd have a large success among dance clubs and hype places..

A befriended dj who spend a lot of time with me and therefore listens to P a lot, said that he would love to work together with Prince to make a old school industrial album. Because he wonders how it would sound with the typical Prince sound. I would find it very interesting to listen to his electronic compositions.
