Hey guys i was wondering, since this album sounds alot like the 80's era songs he made. I think the songs he released where from the vault. I mean the way the sound and drum noise in this album sounds alot like the 80's. what do u guys think ?

Lovesexy Era all the way. Simply because of his style. But I think the Parade era had better music.

For sound and performance, this is the be-all, end-all for me:

But for the look...well, I just love how he looked during the Parade era. He seemed so deceptively clean-cut sometimes. I loved it. And this is probably my favorite Prince suit ever:

It's got to be Parade for me. I remember watching the lovesexy concert on VHS when I was a kid and thinking it was all a bit weird, I still loved the music but the album cover and the outfits he and the band were wearing didn't quite do it for me.

On the other hand, I recently watched a clip of Prince perfoming Head on the Parade tour and the performance blew me away. He looked cool as f**k!

I'll go with Parade. Both are great eras, of course.

I've been blown away by the birthday party concert on VHS lately. I feel that in many ways it's better than the Sign "O" The Times concert movie. Odd how little it gets discussed here. The live Lovesexy VHS releases were cool too, nothing wrong with them.

I have to go say this is a hard decision, because I love both era's. YET my heart keeps saying "Because Lovesexy is the 1! Till MY DAY IS DONE...Hundalasiliah"!!!! Hahaha!

I love "Lovesexy" because of the clothes and the weird arrangements of everything! The whole era showcasing "Black and white" or "Spooky Dark/ Heaven & Love" is unique, the poker dotted outfits, the buttons really has a deep meaning for me. It just flowed perfectly with whole era.
"Lovesexy" is indeed one of my favorite albums. I love the awkwardness and everything. That is why "Alphabet Street"/ "Glam Slam"..etc.. is exceptional for me. Everything is on that album that speaks to me in my life, it was one of the first era's that had drawn me to everything Prince is about. The controversial nude picture, that causes so much stir. It just to me is one of his most unique era's and albums all together.

However; Parade is exceptional nonetheless!. I like the style and the unique cufflinks and fitted/baggy suits. It was a fresh time, and the sound was the early marks of unique sounds found of SOTT. It grew well in time, and it is signature for the timeless songs such as "Kiss/Sometimes It Snows In April,Anotherloverholenyohead/Mountains/ & Girls & Boys". I just love the sound of it, it's great. I have, yet to see the movie "Under The Cherry Moon"; which so many are against here..lol. For where it stands in what I have seen it is a genius album with excellent production. However on every aspect I am not as identifiable with it as I am with "Lovesexy". So I am going to go with Lovesexy!

Lovesexy for me. Especially for the live performances. Prince seemed to put down the guitar for most of the Parade tour...at least in the US. i can dig both tho;-)

Parade era all the way

It had a more 'intimate' feeling the music look the Prince & the Revolution + Sheila E + Mazarati unison. The tour/shows had that feeling too

But Parade had the Prince & Protege connection. there were aftershow with like Sheila E & Mazarati a lot was happening. But the Parade era had the biggest musical output

I'm not going to vote on the music right now, just on the hair.

I know, I know. lol

Anyway, I love the hair from the Lovesexy period. The long hair with body looked so good in the Alphabet St. and Glam Slam videos. Shake that pretty hair Princey! lol
