Prince like covers live,so name the songs you would like him to cover live

I think Prince should never play those 4 songs by the Family Stone he constantly plays over and over.

So he likes to play cover songs so what should he play?

my suggestion

Eddie Floyd-Knock on Wood

Thindersticks-Can We Start Again

Bruce Springsteen-Dancing in the Dark

David Bowie-Golden Years

Deep Purple-Burn

Al Green-Wish You Were Here

The Rolling Stones-Rock and a Hard Place

The Rolling Stones-Have Anybody Seen My Baby?

i would like his back up singers to sing the following songs instead of Angel and Misty Blue:

Teena Marie-Just a Sucker For Your Love

Minnie Riperton-Inside My Love

Divinils-I touch Myself

This just occurred to me after seeing the Cameo vs The Time thread in the Non-Prince section...it'd be interesting to see him do "Candy", I think. It'd either be really good or really bad lol .

I can totally imagine Prince re-inventing Iggy Pop's Calling Sister Midnite. In a D.M.S.R. kinda way.

And I'd LOVE for Prince to do a little Talking Heads:

And for a good out-there suggestion (although it's effing brilliant):

Nina Simone - Save Me. It could sound so good in Prince's hands.

I can't stand it when Prince covers songs in a live setting. Most of the time it's just boring. I'd rather see him play his own material with more variation in song choices.

Do you really think Prince should give it a try on the Comfortably numb solo?

But i am interested what he would make out some of the PF hits.

I won't spend my dime to a "Burning down a House" but when it comes to Talking Heads, "Slippery People" is a funky piece of music. I'm not sure if Prince shares their opinion or attitude behind the lyrics but we'll keep dreaming... What about "Running up that hill" by Kate Bush;-)

If Prince did a Bob Dylan song my two musical loves would come together. I don't really count Make You Feel My Love or All Along the Watchtower because he obviously discovered those through Adele and Jimi.
Dylans Street Legal (1978) and Slow Train Coming(1979) actually come pretty close to soul music...
