Prince's 10 best songs of the 1990s

Now we have the reverse thread to worst songs of the 90s, now its the best

Just remember, all the official studio albums from Graffiti Bridge to Rave. I will allow people to include New Power Soul, Exodus and Goldnigga (Although I doubt many trax off those albums will make this list). Not allowed are NPGMC tracks and obscure bootleg songs or unreleased material. Also protege tracks like anything by Larry, Mavis, Elisa or Robin are NOT allowed. It can't be a fair poll if the average fan hasn't heard the song.

My list

1. Dark (His best soul - woman done me wrong ballad of this period)

2. Cream (This is a great and to the point pop tune, it made me a Prince fan)

3. Still Would stand all time (Great soulful gospelly type track off GB)

4. Come (Forget the length, love the intensity and the joyful explicitness)

5. TMBGITW (A lot better than most people give it credit for, great singing, melody and hooks)

6. The Holy River

7. In this bed I scream

8. Dolphin

9. Letitgo

10. Love Sign (Great feel good track)

Still overrall, none of these songs reach the dizzy heights of his 80s stuff.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I guess but it's strange. Was the full song when released was really recorded in 1989? It could've been re-recorded, if not I might have to think of something to replace it.

Pink Cashmere was recorded in 1988 and released in 1993. It was not re-recorded. The released version is basically the same as the unreleased one. But Prince had Clare Fischer add orchestral synths.

Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

There are like 3 versions of Empty Room. The first version was recorded in 1985 and re-recorded in 1992. But later in 1995 Prince took the 1985 version and reworked and overdubed it. So the 1995 version is the closes to the original.

I dunno if that's like SUPER-BEST 10, I like a lot of stuff, but I did have to have a good think about it and missed out a good few. The 90s singles especially bore me shitless, I can't believe people still regard fluff like TBGITW, Cream and Gett Off in such high esteem - snooze-a-rama.

wha?

In my eyes Pink Cashmere was officially released in 93 on the hits so it can go in the list, regardless of when it was recorded.
