13-year-old Sam Gardner is trying to reach Prince. Sam’s dad, Paul Gardner was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer back in September of 2010.

Paul is a lifelong fan of Minnesota music icon Prince, and Sam is hoping to reach Prince to convince him to play in a benefit for Paul. Sam published a video on YouTube in which he asks Prince to play for his dad.

There is a benefit being held to celebrate Paul’s life this weekend, the information is below.

I have my fingers crossed for this kid! It would make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside if Prince did do something.

Prince will gladly play for him. All he has to do is pay Prince in the sum of $1,000,000 and he will glady play.

obviously prince has no obligation to do this, but it would be really cool if he does.

I hope Prince gets to see this video and does something special for Sam and his Dad.

The twins' mother is struggling with her medical bills. She came from Australia to see her daughters perform, got ill, and is faced with medical bills the family can't afford.

I don't think P can pay everybody their medical bills. Should he pay for this kid his father and not for the twins their mother?

I don't think it's good to pretend that a star is able to relieve the world from the pain and hardship that life offers.

I don't think prince will do it.....but I sooo hope he does. I dunno, maybe cause they are a MPLS family, something will spark in Prince to do this kind favor.

he's just a kid, i dont think he meant to offend Prince by calling him short, i feel bad for the kid, he is a sweet child who is obviously going through a very tough time.

To be honest I dont think he will perform, but an acknowledgement from prince to the family would go a long way, a private letter for example.

Well he may do it and then again he may not do it (he did say he was short and he is but well u know his ego!) and what would the jw's say? (oh my! lol) but then again he may do the charity thing 2,who knows let's see how this plays out!
