How many of you have ever tried out lines that you've heard in Prince songs [or movies] to get women/men? If so, did they work, or did they fail? [If they did or didn't work, feel free to share ]

Not really to get a man. I did something really horrible and wrote him a letter using some of the words in purple rain.

LOL! I recited the whole poem the Prince said the bathtub in "UTCM" to a girl...&....it actually worked [I even hung up on her at the end just in the movie..."Ciao...*click*"]! Until I accidently showed her the movie [stupid]. She got mad because I didn't write it myself. I also tried sporting the same attitude as "The Kid" [minus the abuse of course lol], & all that did was attract women with low self esteem....

HA that is 2 funny, only P could get away wit that & still only in the 80's, bcuz 2day no woman wants 2 go to a mans basement, where he plays a tune of a weeping sounding voice tryin 2 act all mysterious, & though i luv the whole "kid" persona (mostly cuz P looked so freaken hawt) the only woman who would want a guy like that is the one wit low self-esteem. but i find the fact that u tried truly entertaining, great story

think i'll go watch purple rain now

Yes...when I was about 15 I used to shoe-horn in a few line from UTCM or write the words from Honest Man .

I think I could be pretty damn sure nobody knew where id pinched them from....plus "we had fun...didnt we" was a pretty cool way to pour cold water on somebody dumping you - it jsut says 'fine, we had fun while it lasted'

Had an arguement with my man... it was totally my fault but I put on a pair of shades and sat across from him... and said nothing... It pissed him off, but ended the arguement... then we watched a movie together and he forgot all about it.
