I would have to disagree. With a stage so elaborate, light show, movement, and everything being spread out, different vantage points are just as good, maybe even better.

Looking at Prince from far away or having him staring at you? Which to choose, which to choose?? lol.... I choose the man lookin' at me up close!

I go to a show to enjoy a show, not to obsess over someone. There's a reason that PART of the show is called a "light show." There's a reason that the stage is huge. There's a reason that some performances are in arenas and some are at small night clubs. Maybe you didn't get the memos. Carry on....

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!??!!?!? I was able to log in and get tickets for April 14....then log in and get tickets for April 21......then log in and get more tickets. It was pretty easy to me.

I was at work... It's working but now I can't go until a later date... well damn neutral

Oh....well there's 18 more after these (unless there's an in-between), so I'm sure you'll get to enjoy yourself with some more Welcome2America soon enough. Keep me posted if you have other technical issues per tickets.

I cannot believe it. I leave tomorrow for a 16 hour road trip to see Prince in concert (Denver to LA), for my very first time, on Thurday. And, my husband didn't kill me when I called him at 4pm today and told him. excited

Peace. Love. Prince

Once you get vip tickets, there are no other tickets... lol!! There is nothing in the world like being 4 feet away from Prince looking at you face to face!!

Couldnt of said it better myself! I live in Vegas and Ive been lucky enough to be upfront a number of times.... When he makes eye contact with you it feels so deep and personal...Ill pay over and over time and time again to see him. I think Im a bit spoiled now.. I have to have the energy of upfront and in yo face! no matter the price... Each time Ive brought someone that wasnt a Prince "fan" and after the concerts ...well they were transformed... c ya at the show... waiting for future dates. .....

- In an effort to make the show affordable for all of his fans, Prince has declared that roughly 85% of all tickets will be available at $25, inclusive of all service fees.

Now compare that approach to the pricing for the 20ten European shows and take in account that you pay USD 1.44 per euro, currently.
P is now catering to the growing foodstamping millions.

From The L.A. Times this morning.

http://latimesblogs.latim...t-you.html

Prince keeps things affordable at the Forum at $25, but how close does that get you?

PRINCE_COACHELLA_6_

Let's face it. The live music business is one that fans and media approach with a skeptical eye, albeit one that's deserved after years of increasing ticket fees, last-minute fire sales and ticketing systems that seemingly play into the hands of the secondary market. So, when artists and promoters do something right, such as Prince offering about 85% of the... $25 a pop -- a figure that includes service fees -- a hearty well-done is in order.

Three of Prince's 21 Los Angeles dates went on sale this morning, and if anyone was curious as to how a superstar such as Prince could price more than half the Forum at $25, the answer looked to be apparent as soon as one went to make a purchase. There were, of course, the $25 all-in tickets, but the next tier was a drastic hike. Those who wanted to guarantee a seat outside the Forum's upper deck (the colonnade section) would have to spring for a $205 ticket.

What's more, those $205 tickets were running deep into the Forum's loge section. If one wanted to ensure one of the absolute best seats in the Forum, Ticketmaster directed you to its Platinum Ticket section, which offered premium loge seats for as high as $450.

But again, there is good news in all this, as Pop & Hiss is not interested here in criticizing an artist for pricing more than 80% of the house at $25. A spokeswoman for promoter Live Nation confirms that there are in fact loge seats available for $25, and those are, no doubt, among the first to go. So those who are gambling on snaring better seats for one of Prince's forthcoming 18 gigs, there is hope, although what percentage of the loge is selling for $25 is unknown.

On the other extreme, however, Prince die hards who perhaps wanted to sit near the floor or close to it could surely forget about anything under a few hundred bucks. Any searches lower than the loge were turning up packages that started at $526 and ran to $781.

So yes, the majority of Prince seats come at the low cost of $25, and hopefully more artists are watching and will follow suit. Yet the excitement that a superstar would be selling $25 tickets is tempered a bit by the fact that the best seats are drastically higher, and there's seemingly no middle ground.

Or perhaps it's simply an honest reflection of the American economy, with studies showing that...d the poor continues to widen. In that case, Prince can quote John Lennon at the gigs, as the Beatle once famously asked those in the cheap seats to clap their hands while instructing the rest to "rattle your jewelry."

I was asking myself the same. It's probably because Prince is last minute and Leno didn't want to bump his already-scheduled music guests this week. He probably did go to him first and then to Lopez.

I would love to fly out to LA and take in at least a couple of the shows. However, it's not in the budget.. sad I haven't been to Cali since I was a kid. Maybe he'll do 21 nights in Detroit or Chicago.

This is so exciting! With those prices, how can anyone not go? I was a bit hesitant on going since I just got back from seeing him in NC, but when I saw the ticket prices, I knew I just had to go. So here's to saving the rest of April and hope for 3-4 dates close together at the end of May! I want to go see him sooooo bad in Cali, never been there! C'mon Prince, do me justice and give me 3-4 dates in a week span after mid-May and I'm there, at all of them! Maybe even more if there are 7-8 dates in a 2 week span. A vacation to Cali is right up my alley!! Enjoy folks that are going to these first 3 shows. I heard the website crashed a couple minutes after sales opened up! lol Oh and if anyone wants to plan a road trip for some May shows...let me know. I'd love to do that!

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

Math is all.

Assume 20.000 places.

80% goes for $25 all-in. This gives us $200,000

That leaves 4000 places to earn the money.

P asks around 1.5M USD for a show, depending on location, situation etc.

We are looking for 1.5 - 0.2M makes 1.3M USD.

1.3M divided by 4000 makes $325. So it can actually work in this simple example that excludes cost for the venue, etc.

Thanks for the update! Having Sheila E there makes perfect sense and will be a nice live treat!

I doubt they'll play A love Bizzare - I'm hoping for some NEW music!!!!

What time does Lopez tonight actually tape the show? Early afternoon is what I'm thinking so hopefully we will get some updates from those folks attending the show.

George Lopez only has Rosario Dawson & Prince as guests.... could there be several performances or maybe an interview?

(note that I'm not familiar with the show, but mostly George has 3 guests every evening)
