YES! Any language that does use inference will sufficiently change the meaning when going back into English.

Thai reduces the vocab from 660,000 words down to about 150,000, then strips out all of the articles, tenses, and such. It then goes the extra step of changing the meaning of idioms (all languages do this though), so that "cold hearted" in Thai would eventually end up meaning "Warm hearted in English" or "loving" or some such.

I love how languages differ.
