Jugding from his injuries, it looks like he punched a wall after the event as this sort of damage can not be caused by another easily!

In other words...this gobshite is a liar...I hope the judge rides his ass right into a clinker were another will carry on with that ass-riding! tonk

How typically american: it is MINE! MINe MINE!
Pure greed.
And not even realising that.
No sense of reality, understanding that P tosses his guitars around every evening and that really getting a new one every evening is not so practical, to say the least.

With something as expensive as that, If I caught the guitar I would assume that it wasn't for me to keep. Maybe a t-shirt or tambourine or drum sticks which are so easily replaceable I wouldn't think of giving back... but a guitar?... Hope he's satisfied with the pic. Poor guy.

But wouldn't most think that it's just part of the show?

No, because that is assuming they had a brain in the first place.

They are obviously mentally insufficient.

When the show was over, Litchfield went to the stage area and asked for the guitar back

I was at this concert and saw Prince throw his guitar, and was like, "did he really just throw his guitar in the crowd"? That pretty much would suck to have to give it back. Prince was Amazing that night in Oakland, Ca! Much love to you Prince!

lol, He gingerly handed his guitars around most of that night. At one point, he even told his tech to "come on, man!" twice cuz homey was taking too long.

I agree it's a total dick move to throw a guitar into the audience and have people sustain injuries as just "part of the show". You toss that guitar, it ain't yours anymore. C'mon Prince, I thought that show was legit. Keep it classy, huh?

They need to add a line to the "No recording devices" warning on the tickets/signs and say "You don't keep the guitars, you ninnies!"

Mayte is a person, not an object, and no one hurled Mayte at anyone, she hurled herself.

From the article:

“I really feel like I should have the guitar, I’m not dwelling on the injuries that happened, I’m concerned about the event and about the fact that I should have gotten that guitar,” Litchfield said.

What a dumbass. He should be more concerned about the injuries he received from other audience members fighting him for the guitar. I can't believe some people really think that when Prince throws his guitar in the audience, it means they can keep it.lol Not to mention this guy thinks he deserves to get the guitar. I wouldn't be surprised if this guy tries to sue.At first I thought this was a story from the "Onion" newspaper, but if this is for real, what a joke.lol

I think it's a bit of fun and showmanship and has the potential to give someone a brief thrill - "I caught Prince's guitar", etc...

Yet I'd imagine, particularly in a country that requires coffee cups to have "Warning: hot" printed on them, that he'll cut it out of his act sooner rather than later because people are so hard done by because they possibly spent a few minutes thinking they'd been given a free guitar, when in fact they had to give it back.

The injuries are unfortunate - I admit I've always wondered how there hasn't been more of these in the scramble to be the one who catches it (maybe even worse than wedding bouqets! wink )

lol True, all he needs is some fan suing if they get hurt at his concert, from other fans grabbing and climbing over one another to touch P's guitar. I've seen quite a few fans go into a rush when he puts that guitar into the audience, to the point where they'll jump each others' bones to get the thrill of touching Prince's guitar. I remember one lady holding on to it for dear life like she was holding a baby and protecting it from its predators, while fans were trying to tell her she had to return it. She actually thought he was giving it away. I think she felt like a fool when the guitar tech finally came over and told her she had to give it back.lol

I don't feel sorry for this guy. If he is Prince's fan he should know better by now that guitar gets taken away.

I like this photo of the guy posing with Prince's guitar, that's what that old man should do. Besides Prince's guitars are too expensive for giving them away.

I hope Prince won't get sued by this delusional fan.

Really you guys? Blaming the guy that caught the guitar?

If Prince doesn't want to give his guitar away, THEN DON'T FUCKING THROW IT OUT INTO THE AUDIENCE.

Period.
